Ok, so here are all the silly things that went wrong. I'm not complaining, because my day was wonderful overall, but it just makes for a good story....

One of the groomsmen was very careless and got donut all over my husbands white tux before we even started pictures. (My dad managed to get all of the stain out)

My husband opened the door and saw me before the first look, bc he had to pee. Lol. But he shut the door as soon as he realized what he had done. So the first look kinda still counted.

My MOH thought it would be funny to drop the microphone right after her speech, like eminem in 8 mile. She broke the 500 dollar mic, and the DJ yelled at her. My dad then yelled at the DJ for making her feel so bad about it.

We didn't have our monogram until about half way through the reception. I had totally forgotten about it until my parents realized, and then brought it to the Djs attention. The DJ then denied that we had requested and picked out the monogram, even though we clearly did with him a couple weeks before.

My bustle took wayyyy too long to do. Literally at least half an hour. My mom and aunt were struggling with it for so long even though my mom had practiced many times. At one point I yelled at them both and said I was going to take my dress off and do it myself. I later apologized for getting so impatient.

About and hour into the reception, the top hook on my dress broke, making it impossible for the zipper to stay up. So my mom had to sew the top shut, which took about 15 minutes. Precious time, when the night flies by as it is!!

My husband's 17 year old niece drank way too much champagne, and was puking all over the bathroom about 20 minutes into the reception. Poor girl was pretty much passed out in a different room the entire night. Her aunt was kind enough to stay with her the whole time. Her dad pretty much said, tough shit, it's your fault!

The one ring bearer who is only 3 refused to carry the pillow, so his 5 year old brother carried both pillows. No big deal, it was still adorable.

My makeup and hair kinda sucked. And my one bridesmaid who had her hair done at the same salon with me, had a shitty up do that looked like the messy bun I wear everyday. I went home and immediately recurled my hair and applied more makeup. I was just so fed up at the salon. I was tired of telling her things to change and fix.

My cake was soooo disappointing. It tasted amazing, but it looked totally lame. It seemed like they had forgotten everything we talked about as far as the way it was supposed to look.

We had a couple of no shows, which sucked, and then one very rude family who left after the ceremony, wasting an entire table of food. This family has caused drama ever since invitations went out, when the dad requested that his grown step son be invited, even though we had never seen him at a single family function, EVER. I suspect they left because they were unhappy with their seating. There is more to this story, but it's just too much. Lol.

And then probably the most upsetting part of all, my one bridesmaid who is a very big girl, her zipper broke right away, and everyone worked so hard trying to pin the dress together, but it just kept failing. I felt so bad for her, I knew she just wanted to curl up into a ball and cry, but she really held it all together. At one point during pictures, her entire back was just exposed for everyone to see. Luckily I got pashminas for everyone, so she kept it on the whole time until we met up with her boyfriend at the venue, and she wore his jacket the rest of the night. But she was the only one who walked down the aisle with her pashmina on. Oh well, I can't say I blame her!! I just felt so terrible.

I know it sounds like a bit of a nightmare, but it really wasn't. It was amazing. I'll be back later to talk about all of the wonderful things that happened.

@hkda2003‌. You will look back on this and laugh one day. You looked beautiful, your guests had a great time and you married the man you love. Congratulations. So,happy for you!
  • Here are some more pictures taken by friends and family. Including a picture of the "cake smash" which everyone really enjoyed, but I felt sort of bad about!! It was funny, but I didn't actually enjoy smashing cake in his face as much as I thought I would.
