Wedding Invitations & Paper

One invite for large family and their guests?

A close friend lives with her parents, sister, and grandmother. I am planning on inviting her whole family plus her and her sister's boyfriends. In total there are 7 people at the same address I am inviting: 3 couples plus the grandmother. I think I read you only need to send one invite for each household but I feel like tracking everyone down to rsvp with their meal options on one card might be difficult. It might also look really weird on the envelope with so many names.Do I send out 4 separate invites? Or just send out one and have my friend take the lead in tracking everyone down to rsvp with their meal choice and send the card back? What's the best way to approach this? Thanks!

Anyone over 18 needs their own invite. So if they're all over 18, yes - they should get their own invites.

So you'd have 4 invites: 1) your friend; 2) her sister and sister's bf (list him by name - not "and guest"); 3) friend's parents; and 4) grandma.

It might seem like overkill but it's the correct way to do it.

I am assuming that everyone involved is an adult here.

Each couple should receive their own invite regardless of if they live in the same home or not.

Ms. Sister1 Smith and Mr. John Doe
Ms. Sister2 Smith and Mr. Tom John
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Dandy (parents)
    Ms. Mary May (grandmother)

ETA:  Of course use whatever title they wish to be referred as when addressing your invites.

  • Okay, 4 invitations it is! Thanks ladies!
  • another vote for seperate invites. This way if someone doesn't come, you will know exactley who which will be helpful for the seating chart/escort cards

  • If the couple is not married, they should be listed on separate lines without an AND.  So

    Ms. Sister1 Smith
    Mr. John Doe

    Ms. Sister2 Smith
    Mr. Tom John

Mr. and Mrs. Jim Dandy (parents)

    Ms. Mary May (grandmother)
