Chit Chat

I'm a bitch!

Oh man! I’m a bitch!
And I feel absolutely no remorse about it whatsoever.

Last Friday a coworker ended our friendship.

I placed a bid on a new position within the company that will take me completely away from what I currently do and away from her.

I was offered the new position yesterday and it was officially announced today.

Boy is she PISSED.

Why is she so pissed? Because they are forcing her to take over the position I’m leaving.
She is not happy.

I’m doing a happy dance inside.

  • Congrats on the job move! I forget, are you the same poster who didn't know what to do with crazy ex-friend's gift card? If so, I think you should use it to celebrate..

  • @ClimbingBrideNY‌ I have absolutely no idea what I did. She won't even tell her supervisor.

She's been treating me like dirt for a few weeks now and Friday I called her out on it because it was starting to effect our work.

She told me she feels extremely uncomfortable around me, that I need to soul search, and that our conversations should be kept professional.

Kind of hard to keep a professional conversation going when she refuses to speak with me unless what she wants to say will fit in the subject line of an email.

  • @martha1818 yep. I'm that poster. And yep. Same crazy ex friend.
After all the advice I was given I've decided I'm going to look for some shelter that does baskets and if that doesn't pan out I might regift it. H and I don't like the restaurant so we won't want to use it anyways.

  • Girl you are not a bitch for celebrating some success! You didn't aid in her misfortune (which isn't really a misfortune, she just has to do some other training, womp womp to her), so you are good!

Yup, they can. FI's company, as well as mine does that. In my company they do it in a more passive aggressive way. They don't force you to take the job, but it is implied that you should, or you're screwed professionally. At least that's what people feel. Thankfully, this has never happened to me, all the positions I've had, I applied to. FI's job basically tells people, you will now be doing this. No longer that. End of story.

OP - Congrats! Celebrate the night away!

  • Congratulations! On the job and getting the last laugh. I don't think you are a bitch, I think she is behaving in a very childish manner and getting hers.
  • I love you guys!

  • @abbyj700 - yes, kind of - just like @pinkcow13 said, it's done passive aggressively and you're screwed if you don't take it.
They've been trying to get rid of her for years now, but she wouldn't give in.
I'm actually thinking they are making her move to my old position instead of putting it up for bidding like they do with open spots incase I don't like the new job.

They really like me.  A ton of people came up to me today and said they didn't want me to leave because they know when I'm not there and they hate the results that they get.
    HA!

I could say a lot about the job I'm leaving.  It was a love/hate relationship depending on my mood that day.  It was very demanding at first, everyone kept saying how hard it was.  Well the only reason it was hard was because the lady I replaced made it that way to make herself irreplaceable.
Sorry, no.  You just look like an ass in the end.  So now it's a cake walk after I restructured it and not challenging enough.
Plus I'm tired of dealing with people's shit.

  • I've only been in business for myself for a year doing consulting...and I realize more and more every day that I don't think I could ever go back to working for a big company again. For reasons like they could just go "hey, we've decided your an awesome sales person, but you now get to be an executive assistant from now on - congratulations."
