Lost Gift List, AHHH!

So my church gave me a wonderful baby shower last weekend and I sat down today to write the thank yous to take to church with me tomorrow.  We've ripped the house apart and can't find the list anywhere.  My husband decided to do me a wonderful favor and clean the house yesterday and is worried he might have thrown it away.  I still have all the cards I got but I know some gifts did not have cards.  I'm doing my best to try to remember everyone and everything but I'm not sure what to do.  Even the people that I know gave gifts...I don't remember what everyone gave.  I am sick over this!  Has anyone dealt with this before? What did you do?

I would start by writing down everything you remember and then see how far you have to go. Then maybe talk to the shower hostess or a close friend that was there. That's the best I've got.

Thanks.  I went through all the cards and wrote those names down and everything I remember people giving plus anyone else I remember coming/giving a gift.  My FIL is the pastor so my MIL knows pretty much every lady in the church, I'm going to go over the list with her tomorrow.  I am so embarassed.

Oh man. That seriously sucks. Lurkers, put that list in a safe place!!

I would definitely try to talk to anyone you're close with to see what they remember. If this was me, I would probably come clean to people I didn't remember. I think a phone call is better than a general thank you card.

Did you register? Your registry might have a thank you list with what people bought. It's not always 100% accurate because guests could have split gifts, or picked something up at the store for another guest, but it could help spark your memory!

Ummm...I'm sure this is obvious, but maybe in your panic you didn't think of it.  Have you actually gone through the trash or did trash pick-up already happen?  I know our trash is only picked up once a week - is it possible it's still out there?

This is my first thought!  I'd be going through trash bags.

thank you for all the advice and suggestions!  We did actually go through the trash, but the good news is this morning we FOUND it!  Thank goodness!  And yes, a warning to any lurkers.  Put that list somewhere you won't forget and/or lose it!

I actually took a quick picture on my phone of my list right after the shower just in case.

@BMoreBride6 Glad you found the list. I was going to suggest trying to go through pictures (some people take pictures of everything) to see if you could possibly attach cards to gifts...but @misshart00 had a great idea of taking the picture of the list.

My shower host made the list in a spreadsheet, then emailed it to me. Very easy to follow, plus then I used it to print envelopes because my handwriting leans towards atrocious for postal address scanner deals to read. She also spoke with everyone to make 110% sure she had correct addresses and spelling. Might be a bit too close to addressing their own card, but she had that info already, just wanted to verify everything again.
