Always one to take Halloween seriously, Gus has been practicing his best 'bully mammoth' face to ensure perfection by Friday.

Impressive execution, no? ;)

  • Too cute.  I'm jealous.

Chef HATES clothes.   He is so miserable we do not bother anymore.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
  • DH has a similar look directed at me right now as I laugh hysterically at that pic!

  • oh my god LOVE. Charlotte will tolerate clothes for cookies. I can only really get a few shots before it needs to come off. I'll try to get some of her..
  • Awww! What a trooper.

Gus just goes catatonic now, heavy on the stink eye. He knows there will be a plethora of treats waiting for him so I think he's adopted an "end justifies the means" kinda attitude about it.

    ETA - Charlotte is a doll :)

  • Raider has a giant black tarantula costume :) he hates it. He tries to tear the legs off of it. I don't care, it has red LED eyes that flash! It's fantastic and I can't wait. I might get a picture of him in it later.

  • I need to get my guy a costume! He's okay with clothes, which delights his mother.

Unrelated @lolo883 ‌ , but do you find yourself accidentally typing "Fi" out of habit sometimes? I know I do! Still haven't quite mastered "DH" yet. But I'm happy to practice! :D
  • I don't agree with dressing animals up like this. A hat or a bandanna fine, but a full costume?

  • My dog was pretty chill about being dressed up, even though he looks super pissed in these pics!imageimageimage

  • My poor dog. The spider head doesn't stay on him so it flaps backwards. But I love the fluffy butt.

  • Ah, come on Husky…not a fan of Halloween, I take it?

Loving al the holiday flare, ladies. That costume is hilarious, @Sugargirl1019! And the inmate one if my fave, @luckya23.

Yes, all the time! I had started calling him FI in my head like it was his nickname, and now it's hard to break.

Willy is wearing his skeleton outfit today... Over his fleece jammies cuz it's cold outside. I'll try to snap a pic.

  • No I like Halloween, but I think a full costume for a pet is ridiculous. Especially, because it seems like the dogs and cats hate it.

Do you take your dog trick or treating or something? What is the point?

To protect them from evil spirits, obviously.

Brilliant! I could score a shit ton of candy taking him on the road, though I would feel a twinge of guilt taking candy that should be going to the sweet little Colorado kids. But just a twinge.

And the point? Sheer entertainment & simple joy. And an occasional $200 gift card when we score a win in a pet costume contest.

Pic or it didn't happen ;)

(…and I still slip and call DH my FI. Oops!)

  • I will walk my dog among the group of kids trick or treating. Because hey, dogs like walks. And my puppy will looove the attention.

But taking HIM trick or treating? So I can get candy? Adults would be like wtf.

But...but...isn't the point of having a pet all about dressing them up and vaguely annoying them? haha!

All these pics are making me wish I had a fur baby :(

  • @huskypuppy14‌ A lot of things people do are ridiculous or unnecessary, doesn't mean it isn't cute or fun.

Me too. We are waiting until we get a house to get a dog. But I want one! And FILs dog won't do costumes. He freaks out and refuses to move until you remove the offending object.

    Aww!

Yeah both of us working 40-60 hr weeks, living in an apartment, travelling a lot, and the fact that we're not "settled down" in our current city yet means no dogs are best for now. But I get such a pang when I see so many in our neighborhood! I keep telling myself to be patient!

  • I wish I could get Maury to wear clothing or costumes without making it a personal mission to punish me for it.

I bought him a sweater since he would shiver on cold days. The first time I put him in it, he decided to go roll in the neighbor's dog's shit. The first time he's done. I washed the shitsweater, tried it another time and- shocking! - he does it again.

We can't get him nice things.
