Not to Debbie Downer up in this business, but am I the only one that would be absolutely mortified if one of those extremely public proposals had happened?

I mean, my fiance threw me a surprise birthday in August (my birthday is in December) to propose in front of my friends and even that was borderline humiliating for me. I think I might have just spontaneously combust if he'd done it in front of strangers.

That said, here's a sea lion proposal. And a Bollywood  one.

She's a dancer for a national sports team, I doubt she would be mortified that attention was drawn to her.

It made me tear up though because it was definitely special!

Aww that's sweet. I don't have any good videos, nor have I personally seen anything memorable. But that's sweet and I hope they're happy.

Eh, even outgoing people may think that a proposal should be intimate and not a performance, even if they are performers themselves. Obviously it works for most of these people, but yeah, not a style I personally enjoy even watching most of the time (unless the dancing/singing is awesome on its own merits, like the Bollywood one I posted. Super cool.)

We were talking about places to vacation on the other thread and it reminded me of my friends' proposal!

She and her now husband both speak Italian. She traveled abroad to Ireland one summer for school, and the class took a trip to the cliffs overlooking the ocean. Everyone was in on it. He travels to Ireland and surprises her on the cliffs at sunset. He proposed to her IN ITALIAN on the top of the cliffs overlooking the ocean with a beautiful sunset. I wish I could find the pictures her classmates took. They were beautiful and I thought that this was so perfect and I was jealous!

Privacy, sunset, Ireland, ocean, and a romantic language sound super wonderful to me

My DH took me to a local park under the auspices of trying out our new telescope. It was a public place, but not a public proposal, if that makes sense. I didn't cry, but it still gives me all the feels remember it.

Ugh I can't find the link, but I recently saw one where the guy proposed to his girlfriend in a big empty stadium.

He surprised her in the morning by flying in her friends for a girls' day (manis and shopping) and then her family. He had the whole thing professionally filmed and edited.

Now then, half the time I'm thinking, "What do those notes he keeps giving her say? Does she know the proposal is coming? How could she not know? Do people seriously get THIS worked up over proposals? This is lame."

And at the same time, I'm tearing up because I get all sappy watching engagements.
