It's my 8th anniversay.  PMeg's too.  :)  Our day is going to consist of me working and DH taking care of a sick DefConn.  I hope he can go back to daycare tomorrow.

I found out that AliKatt works with my (crazy, Mormon) aunt and cousin (not for much longer, ha).  ::cues it's a small world::

DH slept with DefConn last night, but I still had to get up around 2am and yell at DH to go get him meds for his cough (even though DefConn was laying right next to him, coughing his ass off).  I hate that I'm such a light sleeper and that DH can sleep through anything.  That means I'm up in the middle of the night, no matter what.

Re: Morning

  • Happy anniversary!

The rubber gasket on our front load washing machine ate a pair of my leggings yesterday.  The whole gasket and spring were inside the washer drum and you couldn't unlock the door in any fashion.  I truly believed this was going to be a service call so I called before even texting DH.  He spent 30 mins on it last night and had it done.  One leg of my leggings is 6" longer than the other, but those are cheaper than a service call (and at least they weren't a new pair).

Today laundry catch up, cancel service call, vote, shop for an event, flu shot, and some WORK.  M2 doesn't have preschool today because her school is a voting location.

  • Happy anniversary to you and Pmeg!  I hope you guys can shake the cough crap soon.  It seems like you guys have been sick for a long time. :(

DH got a promotion at work and his days off changed as of yesterday.  So he's off Sun/Mon now instead of Sun/Tues (though he has worked Sundays for the last couple of years anyway).

My routine this morning has been thrown off and it's making me feel irritated.  It's my own fault, but I need to fix it so I'm not grumpy.

Yes!  DS has been sleeping like crap (the molar thing I mentioned yesterday--clean bill of health from the pedi), and DH is always like "I'll get up with him too."  Then it's 1:45 and I'm like "DH...DH...DS is up...your turn..."  [SNORRRRRRRRRE]  He'd better not be faking.

On the flip side, after I was up with DS something like 5 or 6 times Friday night, when DD woke up in the morning I went in to cuddle with her and passed out hard in her bed.  When I woke up 90 minutes later, DH had both kids occupied downstairs and was frying eggs.  Something that has happened maybe half a dozen times, ever.  Oh, and he had made coffee.  He banked a lot of karma points that morning.

How is DefConn doing this morning, mrs.conn?
  • SSDD, though I have to go vote.  I have no idea what's happening on the polling, but I'm curious.  We've got some terrible terrible amendments going up.  I hate the politics in this state, really.
  • He's feeling better.  His fever seems to have broken.  His cough sounds a frillion times better.  He is still a little stuffed up, but he seems to be on the upswing.  I think one more day at home and he'll be good to go.  :)
  • Happy anni to the Conn clan, and little yay for DefConn feeling better.

Quel crabby today....Today's commute in took close to an HOUR. It should only be about 30 minutes. Iworked so hard to get out early so I could leave early, and stupid traffic completely sabotaged that plan.

I already did early voting, but GAH, I'm not sure if I can watch returns tonight. A good night to attack the DVR. Sometimes (a lot), I really hate TN.

  • I'm glad to hear your little one is doing better conn, even though you lost sleep.  I know I'll be the one doing this when we have kids.

I'm with V-SSDD.  I'm working on a stream of things that keep just recycling themselves and don't seem to be resolved, but at least I have stuff to do which makes my day go quicker.  Also, vacation starts next Thursday.  Woo.

My parents are so excited, but I have to curb their excitement by reminding them that H and I don't want to be a double-duo all week.  Nope.  Sad, but true.
  • Morning!

Happy Anniversary MrsConn. We don't really have anything planned for today, but we're going out on Saturday to DH's favorite restaurant. Tonight, we are meeting up with my parents and grandparents for dinner as my grandparents leave tomorrow.

DH was kind enough to take the kids to daycare so I got to lay in bed for 30 minutes before starting work. I am so tired- we stayed up late watching The Blacklist (so so good) and I'm going to drag today.
  • Happy anniversary Conn and Pmeg! Congrats Mr. Taw!

Last night I made homemade chili cheese fries. OMG - I can't wait to have more tonight. Yay pregnancy excuse!

PF slept with me last night and mostly stayed on her side of the bed.

This morning I helped my upstairs neighbor (by letting her in and hanging out with her) when she locked herself out of her apartment. We hung out until the porter came in for the day and could open her door.
  • Have a Happy Conn!!!

Cue another crappy start to the day.

My 20 minute drive to work took an hour.

Our school is a polling site and someone parked in my spot.

My hair is frizzing from the rain.

    And....

I have to do cafeteria duty today.

  • Happy anniversary to the Conns and PMegs!  It was 8 years for us back in September.

  • It's Wolverine's 4th birthday, today!  We're having a party on Saturday (TMNT themed), but we're going out for FroYo tonight to celebrate. (I was going to get donuts, but our local Dunkin is under renovation, so had to come up with a plan B.)
  • @dharmabunny Good luck.  That's a hard push, I hope the Amendment fails.

We have two yuck ones being proposed that were just ridiculous (and 2 more that are appalling as well).  One is a union buster, not even in disguise, and the other one is a restrictive early voting measure.  I'm worried both will pass, even though every publication in the state AND the state's GOP party came out against them.
  • Happy anniversaries/birthday, everyone!
