Silcox Hut-Timberline-Portland

We are looking at possibly booking the Timberline's Silcox Hut in February.
We are out of the area (oregon coast) and are looking for any feedback on the space, the catering, etc.  Also, any good ideas on a photographer specializing in winter photos (I've seen some botched winter photo shoots..harsh lighting...snow...etc) and any other perks that the area may offer that we wouldn't know because of being out of area.  Thanks a million!

We got married at Silcox in March and loved it! The venue space is on the small side, we had around 30 people and it wasn't too crowded in there or anything. I think the limit is 40, but it might be a little tight in there with that many people. Timberline does their own catering. Its buffet style, we got several different types of salad, potatoes, bread, prime rib, and salmon. Everyone raved about the food, it was really good. It was also 3 hours of open bar of beer and wine. You can do upgrades and pick from different entrees as well.

As far as photos go, you might not be able to get that many outdoor ones depending on the weather. It was a crazy weather day up there for us, down at the main lodge wasn't bad, but keep in mind Silcox is about a mile more up the mountain and the weather is different at times. February can sometimes be a very snowy month and sometimes you can get blue skies, just depends. We did get a few outdoor pictures, but a lot of our pics were taken indoors down at Timberline and they turned out gorgeous! I absolutely loved our wedding and the staff at Timberline is amazing and very helpful, all the guests loved the ride up to the hut in the Snow Cat and we got sooo many compliments on our wedding , let me know if you have any other questions. Here's a sample of how the weather was up there on our wedding day!
