Wedding Woes

Last nice day before the cold front.

I went out for lunch and the post office just now. I'm not ready for cold weather.

I know you ladies are already there, but I'm not ready to turn on the heat.

Re: Last nice day before the cold front.

  • We've been trying to keep our heat down as low as possible.  We don't want big power bills yet.

I'm planning our menu for our house warming party, which is the Sat after Thanksgiving.  I just got the catering menu from the BBQ place we want to order from.  Now I'm trying to figure out if I want to go with a higher priced option and have everything down to dessert provided, or if I want to go more basic and make my own desserts and a couple other things.  I need to see what DH wants to do, but I know what he's going to say...ha.

  • Tomorrow is supposed to still be ok temp wise but it's supposed to be rainy. I took the kids to the zoo today and let them play on any climbing thing they wanted. Dh is off tomorrow and there will be a blessed two hours with just max. I've got a long list of stores to hit.
  • We're not ready for it either.  Everything is winterized, but it doesn't mean I'm ready to be IN winter yet.  Blech.  And they're forecasting lots of snow for us this year.  I love snow when I can stay at home and not be in it.  Once I have to be in it and it gets all plowed and ugly, I just loathe it.

  • We were supposed to get snowmagedon here but it went north.  It's 36 degrees and we may have snow (1-3") overnight.

It was 36 at the bus stop this morning (so that was about our low temp today) and poor DD was shivering even in her winter jacket.  That kid is 100% southern, for sure.  I'm all "You call this cold?  It doesn't even sting when you breathe!"
  • Our friends from SoCal are coming out Thanksgiving week.  Their California babes are in for a surprise.  It's going to be damn cold.

  • It's going to be in the low 70's here next week. Better start breaking out pants and socks!
