SOA *Spoiler Alert

This thread is in case anyone watches Sons of Anarchy and wants to chat about it.

I really liked the most recent episode.  My heart kind of exploded with the scene with Tig and Venus.  On the episode where they received the video Bobby getting his eye cut out, I teared up, and am sad he is gone now, but the shot was so unexpected I was just kind of in shock so I guess it wasn't as emotional for me.  IDK.

I like Gemma and now I'm worried because I know Jax will get his revenge, but then Nero will go apeshit.  Oh, and the other chapters are going to vote on whether Jax meets the reaper or not, it seems, but I think that every single one has to be a yes, right?  

I just fucking can't with how Jax basically okayed the nazi guy in jail to rape Juice, who now looks like he is back on whatever drug (he used to be a junkie, if I remember correctly) to try to deal with this shit.  

And I always figured Abel was a little fucked up.  

Also, Chibs is just sexy.

OMG I HAAAAAAATE Gemma - I cannot WAIT until she dies!  

I love love love Tig and Venus.  I hope they get to ride off into the sunset together.  The rest of the crew I don't really care about.  After this season, I think Jax also has to die.

How in the world could anyone like Gemma? That bitch deserves everything that is surely coming to her.

Unrelated: It kind of seems like there is a small possibility of rekindling the Jax-Wendy relationship, no?

^ I was reading the recap on EW, and the writer was kind of squicked out about Jax possibly sleeping with Winsome and then Wendy in the same day, but then he just asked her for tea that went well with Hennessey so he's thinking it's indicated they're truly friends now.  I dunno - Jax has always turned to sex to deal with shit (well, other than going on wild killing binges this season), and I've always found that to be gross.  I'm not shocked he was fucking Winsome.  Or trying to anyway, lol.  

I liked Juice until he covered for Gemma.  Now I don't give a shit what's happening to him in prison, unless he fesses up.

Yeah, I guess I meant more of a friendship rekindling than a sexual relationship. Though I do think that there is still some romantic love there.

Re: Winsome - She looks a lot like Tara, so that whole deal kind of weirded me out.

I am really not pleased with where Juice's character is going this season. He was one of my favorites until he started covering for that vile bitch. The blatant disregard for the prison rape on Jax's part is totally gross though.

I love how he's letting Wendy be a big part of Abel's life...yeah she was a junkie, but dear God, what the hell is he (just the small point of how he held Wendy down and shot her up with heroin a couple seasons ago - let alone everything else!)?  I scoffed when Winsome told him he was a good man...and from the look on his face, he knows it ain't true either. 

Jax is all vengeance and all punishment this year - I can't see him coming out of this season alive - I don't think there's much "good" left in him.

I imagine that he will have some sort of moral crisis upon realizing that he started a war for no reason, and tortured and killed an innocent man.

The cliff-hanger was too much for me to handle. I cried when he cried in bed, even though it was during a weird moment. I cried when he told Abel about Wendy. Weird that a show can make me cringe with really excessive violence (the dangling eyeball, etc) and the sob. 

Didn't Wendy say she was dating women, at some point after rehab? I just assumed that was meant to take a relationship between her and Jax off the table. That and the time he broke into her apartment and forcibly injected her with heroin after she was clean. 

Poor Juice. Is he still just waiting around for August to be released into gen pop? 

I accidentally read a theory about this season/the series which I think spoiled it for me. I don't see very many people making it out alive the way things have been going.

Bah.  I'm a few episodes behind, but I don't mind the spoilers at this point, because I'm really only watching to see how it ends. (Last saw the episode where they cut Bobby's fingers off.) I used to love this show.  But the last season and a half have stopped being about the relationships between the characters and how violence can destroy you and have just been about body counts.  Let's see how gory we can make this week's episode.  Most of the characters are completely one dimensional now, when they used to have a lot of depth.  It all went down hill once Opie died.  (I loved Opie.) 

Anyway, I guess I have some catching up to do on DVR.

Omg.  ME TOOOOOOO!!!!!    I literally sobbed. And then, in preparation for this season, I binge watched all of the seasons again and sobbed again like I didn't know it was coming.

I really think that's when I stopped liking Jax - Opie was almost like his moral compass.  I've really grown to dislike him over the last season or 2. 

 

Now Tig's the man.  I adore that character - even more so after last week's episode with Venus.

I used to love this show, but I stopped watching not long after Opie was killed. That scene still fucking haunts me. Ugh. That and what happened to Tig's daughter. That might have been the last episode I watched. 

Anyway, I've been reading a little about this season, and I watched the last few minutes of last week's episode. Crazy shit. I think I'm going to watch tonight.

I don't think the Jax of seasons past could have killed Gemma. The Jax of the past couple of seasons, who knows? I would like to see Gemma dead but really the best punishment for Gemma would be for her to rot in jail with no one visiting her ever.

This is a good point. He is really different.

And I could get on board with prison as an appropriate punishment, but who is going to go to the cops? That really goes against everything the club beleives in.

Watching it now....I'm glad Juice told the truth.  If Jax does have him killed, I do hope that it's quick, because Juice has had a hard life and just got played from all sides.  He did just want a family to belong to and he picked the wrong one.  

I LOVED when Gemma got the call from Juice - I really really really hope she dies soon!

The show as a whole has just wrecked my soul. I LOVED Gemma, and I really liked Tara. And then Gemma went and killed her so I'm in this internal conflict of whether to hate Gemma or not. I mean she basically got Bobby killed, so yeah hate her, but then she was so awesome in past seasons!!

I cried during the Tig/Venus scene last week. That was too sweet.

Also, I'm in love with Chibs.

Did anybody else choke when Gemma said she was a good mother?  I guess I need to go back and watch previous seasons because my hatred for her has completely clouded any other opinion I might have ever had about her.  

I wonder if Barofsky is really the rat.

I *think* for Gemma, being a good mother meant doing whatever she had to do to take care of her children. In Tara's case, Gemma thought she was a rat and killed her before she could hurt Jax. Had Gemma not been meddling and over-bearing(as well as looking out for her kid), things would be much different.

Oy vey. Finally watched it. It's like when you're nearing the end of a good book...you want to hurry to get to the end to see what happens while at the same time wishing it would go super slow so you can drag it out!

Gemma needs to go. And by go, I mean die. She done fucked up BIG, and there's no turning back from it. Originally, I thought Jax would kill her, but I'm thinking she'll kill herself (maybe where JT died??). And Jax needs to go, too. Wrong, right or indifferent, everything went to hell in a hand basket under his leadership and it's time to be done. I think the MC will vote him dead. I hope he gets some closure first - such a tormented soul he is! And adios, Juice. I do feel bad for him, but he made his own bed. He's never was, and never will be, made to live the life of an MCer...he's too weak.

And my heart absolutely broke from Nero. He loves Gemma so much and I don't think he'll be able to forgive her for the massive chaos she's caused. My prediction is that he & Wendy will run off to the farm with the awful kids (& for the record, I don't think Abel is creepy - I just think he's the worst child actor to ever be born).

I debate this all the time in my head. Is he a horrible actor, or is he supposed to be that weird? I don't get it! Poor kid.

And yes, poor Nero. He's about the best one out of the bunch.

Gemma might have taken care of her kids but she was never a good mother. What kind of good mother encourages her son to stay in an illegal motorcycle club when his surgeon wife tries to get him to leave? Better yet what kind of mother encourages her mother to be in an illegal motorcycle club in the first place. Bad mom.
