Wedding & Honeymoon Insurance

An recommendations for Wedding & Honeymoon Insurance?  What is the difference between Event Insurance & Wedding Insurance?

Re: Wedding & Honeymoon Insurance

  • Event insurance and wedding insurance can be the same thing. Although with event insurance it usually includes liability insurance that many venues require.

We used WedSafe to insure our actual wedding - if the vendor dropped the ball, if the dry cleaner ruined my dress, etc.

We used MH Ross for travel insurance for our travel related stuff for our DW and honeymoon. We found the policy that worked for us through InsureMyTrip.com

None of it was cheap but the two policies combined didn't add up to 10% of what we were spending so we thought the peace of mind was totally worth it.
  • Event insurance protects you (and usually your vendors) from liability in case something should go wrong at your wedding. For example, if there was damage to the venue property as a result of your wedding, insurance would cover that.

Wedding insurance insures the wedding itself, so if for some reason the wedding can't happen as scheduled (natural disaster, illness or death of a VIP, etc.) insurance will cover the cost of rescheduling. It also covers specific parts of the wedding, like if your dress catches fire and you have to buy a new one, or if your photographer backs out and you have to hire someone else at the

I think Wed Safe sells both types of policies. Most homeowners/renters insurance companies sell event insurance.
