Short Hair?

Right before we decided to get married, I got a pixie cut. I love my short hair, but I always envisioned myself having long hair for my wedding. We're getting married in October 2015, so I have a little less than a year to grow it out. From previous experience, my hair should be just passing my chin when I get married. I'm on a pretty low budget, so I don't really know if extensions are reasonable... but then again, I'm not a hair expert. Should I go for extensions? If not, do any of you have pictures of cute short wedding hairstyles? I'm not finding much in TK's Hair section.

Edit: I know it's super early to be thinking of this, but I'm just trying to gather some ideas/align my budget correctly. :)

Absolutely adorable, and with a pixie cut!

If you love your pixie cut, stick with it. There are PLENTY of accessories that can emphasize how cute your hair is, and growing it out isn't necessary if you don't really want to.

  • Love the picture beethery posted.  Think of all the money you will save on not having to hire a hairstylist!  Buy yourself a banging headpiece and rock your short hair!

  • I love my short hair!  I rocked a fascinator that I made from my mom's veil, and it was awesome.  This is the only picture I have access to right now, but when I get home tonight I can post a couple more of my hair.  I like it spiky.

  • Thanks ladies! Love your input. :)
  • This one shows it a bit better.

My sister has had extensions, when her hair was about shoulder-length.  If your hair is going to be at your chin, they still might work - but other people will be able to advise you better on that.

When she got married, her hair was just below her chin, and her hairdresser was still able to pull it back into a bit of a French roll.  It looked very romantic.

So - obviously - I'm a big fan of short hair :)  You've got just under a year.  If it were me, and I was undecided, I'd start growing my hair and decide later.  It's easier to get short hair than it is to get long hair :)

I adore seeing brides with pixie cuts! I had one myself when I got married this month. I don't have pictures back from the photographer yet or I'd show you. I wore this in gold from David's Bridal (link though it doesn't seem to be working right now).

If you love your short hair, that's what you should get married in. And I personally think that short hair lets you have much more fun with hair accessories.

I kept my hair short for my wedding, it was a little longer then a pixie. I wore a headband & my hair stylist just made my hair a little thicker by teasing the back so my viel would stay in. My husband met me with having short hair & that's all he knew me with, I wasn't going to change my look for one day.  If you love your short hair, go ahead & rock it. And think of the plus, you don't have to worry about an updo or down and will the curls hold, etc..
  • Rock your pixie cut!

  • I kept my hair short for my wedding.  I went to my regular stylist for a blow-out the morning of and added a pretty headband.  I agree with what @erikan73 said about not changing her style for just one day - that's just not me.
