Destination wedding-jack and Jill shower

We are having a destination wedding in Mexico. We are thing of having a co-Ed shower. I'm new to this idea has anyone something bc of destination wedding and many guests not being able to attend? How do I inclue people that are not going but still keep it small? Any feed back on this involving coed showers would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Re: Destination wedding-jack and Jill shower

  • It is against proper etiquette to invite people to a pre-wedding event if they are not invited to the wedding. If these guests are invited to the wedding, but you are assuming they will decline the invite, that it fine.

However, it's also against etiquette to host your own shower. If someone has offered to throw you a shower, they will most likely ask you for an invite list. You do not have to invite everyone to the shower that is invited to the wedding, especially if many guests are not local to the shower. It is perfectly fine to limit the shower invite list to immediate family and close friends.
