Anyone else keep up with DWTS?

The finale was last night and the performances were amazing. I loved the "Annie" performance!

I expected Alfonso/Carlton to win but was really rooting for Sadie and Janel is Sadie didn't win. But the finalists were all so great and were fun to watch.

I hate Erin Andrews, hate her. Every time she spoke I was just like, "Be quiet, no one wants to hear you talk." I don't know why I dislike her so much but I always have on ESPN and never changed my mind.

I may have also drank a few glasses of wine beforehand last night and since I was definitely tipsy I looked over at FI and said, "I love this show so much. I want to dance like that." He said, "I'm sure you do" (he hates DWTS). And then I said, "This show really makes me want to cry." He asked why. To which I replied, "Because, it's so happy and so sad at the same time. It messes my emotions up."

So what did you think? Who is your favorite Star? Who was your favorite Pro?

ETA: I also think Janel and Val are a real life couple. And if they aren't, they should be,

I don't watch this show, but I heard who won and I think it's awesome because he rocks.

I've never watched the show, but for some reason BF and I watched this season and got SO into it!

I had a feeling Alfonso would win, but I got kind of turned off by his arrogance near the end.

I know Sadie is America's Sweetheart, but I can't stand her! She's so bratty IMO and although she came a long way in terms of her skill, I really feel like Bethany deserved to be in the final and not her.

Janel is just an amazing dancer, I was floored by her (also biased because I'm a huge PLL fan).

ETA: Just read your ETA and I totally agree! Wouldn't be surprised at all if they started dating. Especially because Val said "I look forward to getting to know her outside of these crazy circumstances." BF and I were like "ohh snap!"

Yeah I think Alfonso's arrogance is what turned me off too. Also, because everyone just knew he would win. 

I wasn't a huge fan of Bethany's. I thought her message was beautiful BUT her technique on certain dances weren't up to par.

I loved Janel too. She was amazing. 

The reason I like Sadie so much is that her dances didn't have to be raunchy and sexy and almost making out with someone to be good. They were cute which is fine because she is still a kid. Andplusalso, because Mark is amazing and SO creative!

And am I the only one who thought Lea looked like she just finished having sex after every single dance. It made me so uncomfortable even though she was really good.

That's so funny, I feel the same way about Lea! She makes me soo uncomfortable. Although I'm super jealous she looks that good in her 50s!

Bethany I really liked because IMO similar to Sadie she didn't try hard too be sexy, but she was more genuine than Sadie. I feel like her skill wasn't up to par with Janel and Alfonso but I think she did a better job than Sadie.

Also a lot of Sadie's facial expressions in the background when she thought the camera wasn't on her just screamed "I'm a huge diva brat." Maybe I'm looking too much into it because I decided in the beginning I didn't like her, LOL. ETA: also because I can't stand her ultra religious, homophobic family.

Who knows? Maybe she's a huge brat in disguise and has me fooled! I refuse to believe it thought because I want just one sweet "reality star" who doesn't go crazy.

I don't watch DWTS, but FILs do, and FI is home with them for Thanksgiving.  Last night he just texted me: "Mona is killing it on dancing with the stars!!!!  when does PLL start again?"

If I had known she was in it, I may have tuned in this season just to see her

I love DWTS and wish I could dance like that too! I was pretty sure Bethany wouldn't make it to the finals because I felt like she was just a teeny bit behind the others in terms of raw talent. I loved how had she worked though. 

I was rooting for Sadie out of the final three, because I always think it's amazing when someone has no previous dance experience and still makes it that far. I enjoyed Alfonso as well though, so I'm still pretty happy. 

My favorite pro though is Val. I've always been a sucker for the Chermerkovsky brothers. Tony's a lot of fun too and Peeta was especially great this season.

I used to be addicted to DWTS, but I think the show jumped the shark a few seasons ago.  BUT, I am happy that Alfonso won and that he brought back the Carlton.

It's funny you say that about Erin as that's the way I felt about Brooke Burke. I would record the show and start watching it late so I could fast forward through her speaking.

@lovegood90 - a Christmas episode is scheduled for Dec. 9th, but I don't know if thats just a 1-episode special.  Hopefully its better than the stupid Halloween episode, which was really just a Q&A with the cast.

BOX? This was my first season actually watching DWTS. I used to watch a recap at the end of the season to see the costumes and a few of the highlight dances but never followed it.

Considering Brooke's 'skills' as an interviewer, consider yourself very lucky! She just always rubbed me the wrong way. Luckily there's always Tom Bergeron to save the day!

I find it interesting that posters think Alfonso came off as arrogant. I think he just looked like he was in enormous amounts of pain and was using his energy to hold it in. 

I thought Sadie was cute but there really wasn't a whole lot of variety in her performance. She always had the exact same performance. Though the Super Mario Brothers dance was the best one the show has done in a looooooong ass time.

I actually enjoyed Janel the most, that girl was 110% every time. Even when she was so into it she actually messed up. I appreciate someone who just goes for it. And sorry I don't buy the showmance They always push a showmance every season. 

As for Erin Andrews, she's not my cup of tea but she is a million times better than Brooke Burke.

I am hit or miss with DWTS.  I had not watched in about 2 years but I started watching this season about 3 weeks in because my mom would call me every week wanting to talk about it, lol. 

I CANNOT STAND ERIN ANDREWS and really hope she does not continue as a host next year (season, whatever).  She really ruins it for us Erin's out there   I think Lea Remini should take her spot.  She was great when she filled in for her.

I loved Carlton (Alfonso) from the start, especially since Whitney is one of my favorite pro's (loved her on SYTYCD).  I was so nervous he was going to have to quit and am just glad he was able to push through----> I watch the episodes on hulu plus so was really trying to not spoil it for me, but they of course talked about it on TV this morning so I know the results   Will still watch the show later though to see it still.

I was excited when I heard Allison Holker was going to be on this season because she was my favorite on SYTYCD...but I felt bad for her because while she is an amazing dancer, ballroom is not her "profession" so I know she struggled a lot with the choreo. 

It was hard to get into at first since there were a lot of random "stars" this go around, but they started to grow on me.  The top 4 were spot on this year.  Sadie and Bethany were really sloppy and had awkward technique, but they started to grow on me and I liked their personalities.  Derek and Mark are awesome teachers/choreographers so it just shows how important that is.  I liked Lea, but she was for sure awkward so I knew she would not make top 4, but also think she went home earlier than she should have.  I actually liked Tommy Chong by the end of his run though.  Stayed WAY too long, but he did get better so I will give him that.   

I loved all of the freestyle routines the other night!  Each one was so different.  Sadie & Mark's was so creative and super cute.  I loved how Alfonso incorporated all the different styles too.

I think Val and Janel are for sure more than "partners" on this show.  She kinda bugged me, but she deserved to be in the top.

I've said before that ABC sucks now. They used to let you watch their shows the day after they aired. Now it's a week and a day later.

So I can't watch the finale until this coming Tuesday. So I was deliberately avoiding new stories, all that stuff.

And then a friend posted something on FB about cheering for Alfonso and Whitney and then one of her friends posted, "you know they won, right?"

Really? How lame do you have to be to post any kind of results the night of on FB when there are plenty of people who may not have seen it yet? I really really hate people like that.

Anyway, I am glad they won. I was cheering for them. Largely because of Whitney but also because of Alfonso, he has done really well. Whitney is one of my favorite female pros. I watched her and Lindsay on So You Think You Can Dance and I thought they were awesome back then. I was super excited when DWTS announced they'd be joining the cast.

I really liked Janelle as well, her last few routines have been pretty awesome.

I liked Sadie and Mark, but I honestly thought Sadie would leave in the last week or two before the finals. When watching her, I felt like she was good, but I also thought she frequently had bent legs when they should have been straight. Almost like she felt she was too tall/gangly and wasn't quite comfortable with her legs. Maybe that's just me.

I also liked Bethany and Derek. I think they did well throughout the show.

I am very happy with who made it to the finals. I thought Tommy has done admirably, but I'm glad he went home when he did. I'm not trying to diss him because, as I said, I think he did very well and I thought Peta did as well (another of my favorite pros), but dancing simply wasn't at the level it should be for the finals.

I am super excited to see what the final four bring when I can watch it.

Without knowing how they all end up placing, I'm going to make my guess here. (Also, Alfonso and Whitney were my favorites all along, so I would have placed them first even if I hadn't seen the spoiler.)

First - Alfonso and Whitney
Second - Janelle and Val
Third - Bethany and Derek
Fourth - Sadie and Mark

I think Bethany and Sadie could easily flip flop places, but I honestly think Bethany is a slightly better dancer. But, I think Sadie might have the fans to pull off third. I don't know, though, because Sadie has been in the bottom two a couple times (and recently!) and if I remember correctly, Bethany never has been.

We'll see! And I hope no one minds if I bump this post next week when I can watch the finale.

My H and I are totally in love with Sharna Burgess. She is our fave and we always try to root for her.

I am very excitd for the 10th Anniversary season in the spring.

I am glad Alfonso won. I never really liked Sadie. Just like I didn't really care for Candace Cameron last season. This is a dancing show and you need to be prepared to embrace all dancing styles. 

Bethany's dance during the "best years" episode moved me to tears, as did Janel and Val's freestyle the other night. 

I think my favorite pro in the last couple years was definitely Kelly Pickler. She was sooo awesome. 

I also love Erin Andrews. I think she is funny and quirky.
