Videographer in NJ suggestions?

Hi,

I am looking for a videographer but have a very small budget for one. I do not want the full reception just a few of the momentous events ... the ceremony, the brideal party entrances...the first dances, the speeches...not the late night dancing.  I am not sure if its worth hiring one....suggestions?

If it's in your budget it's absolutely worth it. Some of the ones we've met with had an hourly rate for smaller weddings which was cheaper than a full 8-10 hr+ package

What is your budget? Our videographer, Live Picture Studios, was AMAZING. Their packages started at $1500.

THank you all for the tips...i do not really have a budget but I am nervous I will regret not having a video of it...so I am trying to figure something out...I appreciate the feedback!

You definitely want a video, if your budget is super small and you don't need anything fancy like Cinematography etc. ......I would look into the following:

Martin's Video, starts at $895  gives you everything you stated you wanted....depending on your location they may charge a small surcharge....

John Jae Video have packages starting at $1200 for their traditional footage, with them the quality of video is a bit better than Martin's Video but great quality for us brides who are on a budget....

I personally went with a cinematographer that was extremely reasonable compared to his peers...

I used Martin's video, we weren't sure we wanted a video so we didn't spend too much.  They were great to work the videographers we had that day were really nice.  The quality of the video was so so at one point during the cermony the images would get very pixelated when the camera would move and it was a bit stagnant during the reception at times.  It was worth the price and we have only watched it once.  I'm glad we did it because we captured some moments that could never be captured by photo.

We just got our video back and loved it and I think we paid 1000.  We used John Jae Videography...fabulous quality!!!

We are using Dmart.  I found him a while ago before I was engaged and bookmarked him.  We both really liked them and found them to be reasonably priced.  I love the style.  Here are some of the videos. http://vimeo.com/dmartfilms  If you go to their website though there is a video that starts playing.  It is a father of the bride giving a speech and it is played throughout their video and it is so awesome.  We want to hire that guy to give a speech he was that good! lol  Dmartfilms.com
