Christmas gifts

I always stress this time of year with getting gifts for people.  DH is impossible to shop for, he just buys whatever he wants for himself when he wants it.  I might look into concert tickets for him, and I have a call in to a hunting buddy to see if there are any must haves that he does not yet have.

We need to get something small for my landlords.  They are also close friends, like another dad to DH essentially.  I am at a complete loss on this one.  They love antiques and antiquing.  They also love feeding feral cats.  Actually, they are huge pet lovers in general.  Any creative ideas are more than welcome.

My secretaries are done, I got some nice stuff at a great wine sale yesterday.

DH's secretary is a doll, and keeps him organized so I want to get her something small too.  She is a fun, quirky girl.  For example, she came to work dressed as Sherlock Holmes on Halloween (and not a slutty version!)  I was thinking of going to someplace like homegoods to see if they have a fun journal, maybe a mug and some tea.  Again, help is welcome.

Re: Christmas gifts

  • Landlords--I would be tempted to give them a GC to an antique shop, but I am not creative in the slightest. If they are a couple, maybe you could give them a date night (GC to restaurant/movie theater) wine, etc.

Secretary--I like the idea of a fun journal. Home Goods always has the best things and you can find some awesome stuff!

  • Do the landlords have a shelter for the feral cats, or do they just feed them? My aunt made some cool shelters for the ones she tends to out of Rubbermaid totes; maybe they'd appreciate something like that?

  • Is there anything antique that the landlords collect? I collect antique teacups and I'm always thrilled to get new ones.

For the secretary, I'd do a little gift basket. A nice mug, some tea, some fancy pens, maybe even a fun hair clip or two. Seconding the idea of HomeGoods--you can get some really beautiful things there that are unique and inexpensive.
