Would it be odd to do two strip tours?

Since my reception will only be dinner at Trevi, I want to do something fun for my guests afterwards. My original plan was a DDB, but they advised me they do not do them that late (my reception will end around 9:30-10). I would have to move up my ceremony and reception substantially for this to work, so I was thinking to instead do the DDB as a meet and greet the night before.

Now, one of the reasons I wanted to do a strip tour after the reception was so that everyone can take pictures in their wedding finery, myself and FI included! So I've been looking into some other companies (NTS, Five Star, Presidential) who would accommodate my late night tour. Depending on my guest count, I would be able to rent one 30 seater limo or party bus, or two smaller ones. (We invited 50 people, I am anticipating 30-40 but won't know for a while!)

Would it be weird to do two strip tours? Most of my guests have never been to Vegas, so I thought it might work, but I'm having doubts. Another option I was thinking was doing something else for the meet and greet, like bowling (I am not a bowler but I want to do something active like that). I don't want to host a meal for the meet and greet, since at this point I am already pushing my budget!

  • Personally, I wouldn't want to sit on a bus twice for several hours. Could you do the DDB as "cocktail hour" or the meet and greet? I think you could plan something informal for after dinner like going to a lounge or club. Just set the expectation (as we are) that drinks and things will be on their own then at the lounge or club. Or you could pay for the first round.

  • You could also take a bus to the high roller or something after dinner. Probably great at night and great photo ops. Then save the ddb for the meet and greet

  • Yea the High Roller is great...it was a lot of fun and has amazing views of the strip. I second that
  • @hmgiffor That's a good point - although I'd like the second tour to be a fancy limo (NTS limo has as awesome huge one!), I certainly don't want my guests to be like "ugh, another tour?"

@Rosebubbly and @nyhollyday Great idea! I would love to do that, but am just concerned about the organization aspect of it I guess - I'm afraid of getting there and having to wait forever or something going wrong! Maybe I am just overthinking it (along with everything else, LOL). If the pods weren't so expensive I would just rent one, but it's so pricey to reserve a whole one!
  • Ok I have another question! The more I think about it, the more I like the idea of doing the High Roller after the reception (thanks ladies!). I'm going to *try* to do an itinerary to include in my invites, but am not sure how to word something like this?  Would something like this work:

    6:30-9 Reception
    Trevi restaurant

    9:30 - High Roller
Ride the observation wheel with views of the Strip! Transportation will be provided

Should I say something like "whoever wants to join is welcome to come?" Should I include the high roller cost? Should I not include it on the itinerary at all if it's non hosted?
  • Me personally, I do not like riding in limos when I'm dressed up.  A DDB, party bus, bus, etc, would all be fine but limos annoy me because my suits always end up wrinkled badly, or it's uncomfortable trying to do the hunched over walk through the car wearing the jacket if it's a higher capacity one.  Just a thought.

  • @vegasgroom that's a good point which I wasn't considering also. Thanks!
  • What I did next to things was write "optional" I would just write

9:30 High Roller @ Linq (Optional)
    Transportation provided.

  • @hmgiffor That's perfect! Thank you!!!
  • @teenabeenerz That is good, just keep in mind with the high roller that you have to go up to a kiosk and buy the tickets. I don't remember if they take cash. There is also a guest services area (may or may not be a line) and you can get the tickets from an actual person. When you buy them they come with a time to get on the High Roller. They have time slots. So make sure if your not footing the bill that folks have a credit card or cash for it. Then you will have people who wanna stop at the bar before getting on.

When I went there was no line and me and my friends had a pod to ourselves. Also keep in mind that the High Roller doesn't stop to let people on and off. You hop on while its still moving, but it doesn't speed by. Just safety with any long dresses, including yours or super drunk people
  • @nyhollyday All great points, thank you! I actually went on it a few months ago and it was kind of scary how it doesn't stop - although they did stop it very briefly for some of the large groups, seemingly randomly. I'm really glad I'll be wearing flats with my dress!
  • I didnt even know they had a big wheel in Vegas. Its really similar to the one in London which all of my fmily have travelled on at one time or another so I think it would be really cool to go on the Vegas one as well. Also seems child friendly so its something that everyone should be able to enjoy. Thanks for the idea I literally learn something cool and new to do every time I log on.
  • @teenabeenerz also you could think about doing a wedding website as well as a printed itinerary (which is what we are planning to do) where you could add extra information and links to websites so people have a general idea of what they are doing and where they are going. Also cuts out any excuses about people 'not knowing the plan' because you can publish as you book/confirm things.
  • @lauradean89 That's true, I keep waffling on whether I want a website but you have very good points!
