Need more lace!!!

HI Ladies,

 

Can anyone tell me of a good place to buy additional lace for my dress? Maggie Sottero no longer makes my dress and I need to add to it.

You will not be able to match the lace on your dress.  Chances are it was manufactured for MS.

I am not looking to match it exactly as I am sure that would be pretty difficult, but I am looking to buy something similar and am just looking for recommendations of places to purchase extra lace.

It depends on what kind of lace you are talking about.  Chantilly?  Alencon?  Venise?

Basic Chantilly lace can be bought almost anywhere they sell fabric.  Other types must be special ordered, unless you have access to a place like G Street Remnants in Rockville, MD.

Lace trim?  Allover lace fabric?  I know a frequent place I get lace trim from is cheeptrims.com.  They are a wholesaler and sell everything by the roll/bolt.

You could also consider checking pre-owned wedding or auction sites for someone who has your exact dress in any size.

What does your dress look like?  DO you have the style number?  Where were you thinking of adding the lace?

Thanks Ladies! I am going to try and attach a pic of my dress but if it doesn't work, it is Decadance Royale by Maggie Sottero. It currently has a bubble hem around the train that we want to remove so it lays flat and then just want to do a lace trim around the hem of the new train, if that makes sense. So it doesn't need to match exactly cause it will not be laying next to the existing lace on the dress. Thanks for any opinions and help!!
