Wedding Woes

FWP

Since Kroger bought Harris Teeter, their inventory has been way too thin.  I have been doing their online shopping since DD was a newborn (five years), and they would usually be out of a couple of things every week.  NBD, it happens.  For the past couple of months, there have been long lists of things they're out of every week, regardless of which location I use.  (I switched from the one by the new house to the one by DC because the one by us is smaller, so I figured maybe the one by DC wouldn't have so many out-of-stocks.  If anything, they're actually worse.)  It's getting annoying.  Publix is moving into the area, and right now the closest one is still several miles out of my way.  If they open one close to me, though, I may be done with HT, which would have been unthinkable six months ago.  In the meantime, I've given serious thought to changing my route home from work to take me past the closest Publix.

This is a complete FWP, but I'm still annoyed.  Your turn.

Re: FWP

  • I'm supposed to go to a cookie exchange tonight.  But DH has invited over his co-worker and his co-worker's wife to hang out with the kids and help drain the keg we've had since last weekend (we return it tomorrow).  His co-worker's wife is part of my mom group, but not going to the cookie exchange.  I feel like an asshole leaving her here with the kids and the guys.  Also, I have a lot of shit to do to prep for my sister's bday party tomorrow (including a Costco trip).  Doing the cookie party is going to stretch me really thin, but I'm pouting about giving it up...even though I probably wouldn't have that much fun because I'd be worried about all the shit I have to do.
  • My FWP was this morning:  I needed to go to the liquor store, but they didn't open until 9.  Also, the woman that works there is completely in love with M2.  It's almost creepy how much she gushes about how pretty she is.  M2 is cute and all, but not how much this woman goes on.

I luv me some Publix, even if it costs a little more. It's like the employees WANT to work and stay busy. Good business model too.

Since it's FL based, they can get a hold of some really good FL produce and Cuban grocery (mojo marinade, roast pork in the deli, etc)

  • The first class lounge at JFK doesn't have gluten free food.

This is legitimately the most first world first world problem I've ever had.

  • Gawd I miss Publix.  That right there is a FWP for me. Why can't we have Publix in AZ? Publix has the best deli sandwiches (or used to).
