Have you ever? Mondays...

I was running late this morning and didn't have time to put my make up on before I left. I wear makeup everyday because I still have acne scars and even though I have long eyelashes, they are basically clear so I need mascara. In cases like this I usually grab my makeup bag and put on some powder and bronzer and mascara befor eI unlock my building. 

Well, this morning I forgot my make up bag and being a Monday, I look super tired. So I decided to add a little color and contour to my cheeks using lipstick. If only I had a small tube of mascara, I'd be good to go. Have y'all ever done this?

How is your Monday going? Add to that, my assistant just called out and now I have to stay later.

I have used lipstick on my cheeks before if I forgot blush. It works just fine for me.

 

Today is my birthday, so it is a great Monday! My coworkers covered my desk in cards and goodies and made me cry because they were so sweet. Tonight, my family is taking me out to my favorite Thai place so I can't wait for it to be dinner time!

I was running extremely late this morning, so I also forgot to put on my makeup. I always have lipstick and gloss in my bag though, so that's what I'm wearing. I put my hair up in a bun this morning, so I look a bit "fancier" even without makeup, lol.

My Monday is okay. I am exhausted, it is really cold out today, and I just want the day to be over with. My review was supposed to be today but it got pushed yet again until tomorrow, which is beyond annoying. I am hoping for a raise/promotion. Or if I don't get one this time around, I want to start the conversation going for the next round in March. I am excited for the rest of this week, though. Tomorrow we have a team outing - we are going to make pizza and drink wine. And Friday is our holiday party

When I used to travel to MN every week for work, I once discovered that I left my makeup at home in TX.  I made a quick run to the drugstore on the corner and pieced myself together in the office bathroom.  

My Monday is nice.  Last week was a complete drain and we had a busy weekend, so I'm thankful for a quiet Monday morning.

Today has been non-stop since I woke up. The dog decided he wanted to go out 12 minutes before my alarm went off, so I turned on the light to find a HUGE caterpillar looking thing with nasty long legs and antennae crawling up the wall next to my bed. The dog had to wait while I sucked it up into the vacuum.

I got to work at 4am (horrible enough in itself) and it's been super busy between the weather in Chicago and super dense fog in west Texas. And it's FREEZING in this office. I've had to get up about 10 times just to run my hands under hot water to warm them up.

One day I forgot my makeup bag at my friend's house. I decided to run into CVS to at least get some foundation. I ended up breaking out in small bumps all over my face! I should have just stuck to no makeup that day. 

My Monday is going OK. H's friend is annoying me about going to Medieval Times, and I really don't want to commit to that for next month. I don't know. I've been there twice. I think that's enough. And it's on a Sunday. I'm an old lady, and I don't like to be out late.

I think today everyone was just late to work. I was over an hour late-EEP! No makeup for me either, except a swipe of old mascara I found in my glove compartment and gloss in my bag. I never, ever go out without powder or foundation on. (However, my flushed, non-color face is helping the story that I was late because I'm sick. So I'm going with it.)

I keep eyeliner and mascara in my purse for that reason. I tend to use lip gloss rather than lipstick, and don't really wear blush, but I have used lipstick that way before for some reason. I've also gotten a couple stains from Birch Box that are intended to be used as either.

My Monday is a giant fucking pile of meetings. I moved 2 conflicting ones to tomorrow so I'm down to 7. SE-VEN.

My Monday is going blah. I hate not wearing makeup so I always at least put foundation on. I wake up 2 hours early so I make sure I have time for that at least. I have to write a paper and study for finals booo.

My Monday is going much better than last Monday. Over the weekend FI gave me a "come to Jesus" talk about my wedding stress that made me realize everything is FINE, so I'm feeling a lot more zen today. I also got much better sleep today. There is some BS with someone trying to get me to hire them and I'm pretty sure she had her friend email me to try to trump up demand for her services, which there is none. But my boss has my back and I don't really give a you-know, so it's all good.

I hate going to work without makeup because I feel like it makes me look like a tired teenager (and I get mistaken for a teenager enough as it is), but I love not wearing makeup on the weekends. I only do so if we're doing something special, like visiting family or going to a party. Other than that I like giving my skin a couple days break.

I am starting the week out frikking exhausted, but with tree almost finished. This is day three, which is typically the day my family disowns me. Everything is in place, and now I'm detailing. So, fixing everything other people did wrong.

I've been at this, nonstop except for sleep, since 9 AM Saturday, when I started the process trekking through the mud at a tree farm, and cutting her down. In the rain, with a stupid saw. I should be allowed to bring my own saw.

Saturday afternoon, tree in stand, boxes all up from the Room of Requirement, lights tested and on, finished at midnight, beads and garland six AM Sunday, ornaments all day Sunday, and glass icicles and fine tuning today. 

My assistants quit, as always, after Sunday dinner, when (as always) I start asking rhetorical questions, like do you mean to have that huge clump of silver together? and why would anybody do that? and  can you not see that huge empty spot?

WTF. There's a serious many layered system here. Obey the system. 

I'm a reasonable woman, most of the year.

Not at tree time. 

My children are smartasses and I can't walk in my living room.  Broke a huge favorite mercury glass pine cone this morning and swore like a crazy woman. Said "Oh, fuck a whore!" And "fuckity fuck fuck-Fuck! " 

This just needs to be done. Because I have actual real work that needs finishing, today.

My suggestion is keep a tube of mascara in your desk and a little powder and blush for these "whoops" moments.

I rarely wear make-up, but this is what a co-worker at a previous job did since she was really into make-up.

The one time I forgot mascara and bought a tube on the way in to keep at work, I opened the motherfucker and there was no brush on the end of the stick.

Soooo FI just told me the reporter he's working with today is doing a story on a guy who was on the campus of the college I work at Friday morning. He had a gun, marijuana, synthetic marijuana, and heroin.
