Morning.  

How's it going  today?

My grandma is scheduled for surgery next Weds,  My mom and uncle are going to be there.  Even though my grandpa thinks he's 'got it', I'm glad they're going to help him and my grandma.  I also think my mom would be a wreck staying up here and not being there with them. 

I feel like I could skip the holidays and go straight to 2015.  This year has been insane (in good and bad ways).  I'm just...done.

I was talking to my (perpetually strong and cheerful and positive and hopeful) older sister and she said that there's something going around this year.

She has a theory it's, at least in her school, partly rooted in the change of standardized testing (they happen a month sooner)--so kids who were going to crack/wig out in January are doing it in December.  I think she's onto something, I know that when it snowed in early Nov, I  teared up in my car at the thought of having another winter.  I normally hate winter driving but...I dunno, it's an overreaction because last winter SUCKED SO HARD.

(That said, she was telling me about one of her 7 year olds.  His dad has just recently come back into his life.  He spends 1 week with a dad he just met a month ago, and the 2nd week in the homeless shelter with his mom.  Sis and his other teachers have gotten as much help for him as they can but...ugh)

And I'm glad grandma will have help and support, just knowing people are around helps a lot.
