Wedding Woes

Lie to me

Okay, so H was OOT and I spent the better part of the last 3 evenings doing things around the house to keep the ball moving toward selling, etc.

I primed, painted, some of it virgin walls.  And somehow I thought that painting a portion of a wall in one room that was already painted, as a touch up would be okay.  Nope, and part of me thinks I willfully just didn't paint the whole thing and another part of me thinks I was really convinced that it would match.  I really did spend about 5-6 hours the last 2 nights painting so it's not like I cut corners because I didn't want to spend time on it.  I just assumed.

*sigh*  I hate letting people down, and yes I know I'm harder on myself than anyone else would be.  GET OVER IT, right?

Re: Lie to me

  • I can't.  I repainted an entire room b/c I waited too long and it didn't match.  And it was a faux finish too, so it was a enormous PITA.

In other news, this reminded me of one of my favorite blues albums:

  • How long between touch up paint and original painting?  A day or a week and you'll be fine.  Years and sadly it won't match correctly.
  • LOL.  8 years, 6.  EIGHT HUMAN YEARS.

I was just all "la ti dah!"  I've painted 3 rooms and 1 partial now.  And I was just "meh".  I feel like a boob.

Oh well, I'll get over it.  I just hope H thanks me for what I *DID* do right.
  • He better thank you!  At that point I would have at least tried to see if it matched.
  • painting is hard and fun-sucking.
  • So I feel like an idiot because I thought this was going to be a discussion about the show "Lie to Me". Now I know.
