Wedding Woes

Serial

Let me know when you've listened.

Re: Serial

  • ::raises hand::

    What was the unsubstantiated rumor???

  • I KNOW!!

    Also, people are going to be all like, "He's a psychopath because of the letter he wrote and that he was 'hiding' his true self from Sarah the whole time!"  I look at it as more like an unrequited love situation.  Where you're totally in love with someone, but you know that it will ruin whatever you DO have going on, so you just don't say anything and basically swallow your feelings.  And that's even easier to do since they weren't face to face for their interviews.

    I still really don't know what to think.  I can see him doing it, but I can see him not doing it.

    I think the collection plate stealing is such a non-issue and I totally believe Adnan's account over the other guy.  (Also, WHO IN THE HELL has $2500 per WEEK to donate to anything?!) I feel like it wasted a lot of time that could have been spent on something else.

    As much as I've loved Serial, I feel like next week is a natural conclusion.  I cannot wait to see what they bring next season.
  • I really liked that he addressed why he hasn't been pissed at Jay--I think I raised this here previously, and I bought his story.

    I feel like I'm ready to throw the state's shaky premeditation theory right out the window.  I could see him snapping, though at the moment I'm back to leaning toward him being innocent.  But snapping and killing her is at least conceivable.  But I don't see anything to support a first degree murder charge here.  Unless you believe Jay, in which case I have a bridge I'd like to sell you...
  • I bet people are going to lose their shit next week because it's the last one and nothing is going to be resolved.  And those are going to be the people who read nothing outside of listening to the podcast.

    If you want a neat bow, watch Law and Order.
  • I'll say it- I hated this episode the most. It was just so much conjecture and reading through the lines. And I hate that kind of thing in real life too. It was basically an episode full of opinions; opinions by people who are so peripheral in Adnan's life (like the other guys from the mosque). \

    I am fine with next week not being a neat and tidy end. I much prefer the episodes where they state the facts and poke at them and give opinions on that.
  • I didn't love the episode either.  I felt everyone's opinion/account of stories/'facts' were all sorts of sketchy. And the voice obscuring shit was annoying.
