My Cousin's Daughter is Missing

And I am freaking out. Like, I don't know what to do, it's never happened before.

What's pissing me off is that there's an article in the paper about her being missing, with her picture, and instead of giving helpful information for us to find her, the only comment says "Wow. They could have picked a picture where she didn't look topless."

I just want to cry and hold my cousin, but instead I'm stuck at work, panicking and wanting to punch the commenter on the paper website.

Oh my gosh, this just makes my heart break.  I'm so sorry!! I'm thinking of you and your cousin.  How old is she?  Have they gone to the police and put out an Amber Alert or anything?

She hasn't been seen since Saturday. She is 15, but my cousin said that when she went to file the missing person's report, she was told that as an aboriginal teenager she had "probably got herself into trouble" and run away, so they wouldn't do anything for her until yesterday.

The scariest thing - someone has been praying on aboriginal teen girls in the area lately. They found one girl in the river dead, and another beaten and left for dead thrown in the river (she's much better now) so I'm scared.

That is awful!!  Just horrible.

OMG, I'm sorry to hear that, I hope she's found safe very soon!  I'm ready to do battle at the police station for you, that is so horrible!
Just because she's aboriginal is no reason to not treat her like any other child and put out an AMBER alert right away.

From the comments on the article you posted, it sounds like this has been happening a lot. I think that's reason enough for it to get national attention. If girls keep disappearing, it needs to stop.

At 15, the cops need to look into a missing child case ASAP. If your cousin had not done so already, flyers and posters plastered all over the neighborhood and surrounding areas is helpful.

Can she try to get on the local news and make a statement?
