Hello Ladies,

I have been a lurker on the board for a very long time, but now I have a question regarding my dress.

I am getting married in July 2015, but I am trying to be on top of everything, needless to say I purchased my dress which was a sample for what I thought was a good price. Now I see the dress (also a sample - NEW) on Preownedweddingdresses.com for $1000.00 cheaper than what I paid for it. I am kicking myself because I am a penny pincher, not just for the wedding but in general.  My question is: Should I purchase it on Preownedweddingdress.com and then try to sell my dress for close to the purchase price? Hopefully try to make my money back. I don't know if this makes any sense that is why I'm putting it out on this board. Should I just be happy I have the dress I love and not let it bother me :( ?

Re: Dress Question - Frugal Bride

  • I would be nervous to do that.  You never know if and for how much you're going to be able to sell the dress.  You could end up with 2 dresses and be out more money.
  • I agree. I have thought about the same (although mine is only a few hundred dollars) but in the end, I LOVE that my dress is brand new and fit perfect for me (although I was lucky not to need any alterations but some boobies added!). I would hate to see you stuck with 2 dresses! I would say just try to sell your original dress after the wedding to get some money back.

  • Thank you Ladies for your responses! I didn't want to be stuck with 2 dresses either.  I love my dress so I should just get over it and try to sell it after the wedding :)
