You lost me at "be ripped". When I met FI in high school, he was a twig/very muscley/thin and I didn't think he was attractive at all. I re-met him 8 years later and he'd gained 60lbs and HALLELUJAH. I mean, okay - I can see some of the argument about not being objectified and having unrealistic expectations.  But women get that, too!  The image I posted pissed me off - there are PLENTY of expectations of women other than "don't be fat."  The comment about why there is no "Men's History" section.  Really???

I dont disagree with ALL of it...Men are subjected to similar body shaming/pressures as women, and there ARE some unfair double standards, but this seems really childish. Some of the stuff they are mocking goes too far imo.

Can we just look at this picture for a second? Ignore the stupid words, that are stupid on it.

The man is dressed in a nice suit. The woman is naked. Why is that? Because men are objectified and forced into suits? Or because men can be seen as something other then something to fuck?

That's not completely true because certain ethnicities and subsets of "white men" certainly have been marginalized at different points in time.

I also have a crazy anti -feminist possibly former academic on my friends list... I keep him just to see what wild shit he will post next. It's not even anything obvious like this though.

Anyone who truly believes in equality can highlight their own struggles without putting others down- for instance binary gender roles ARE harmful for boys as well, just look at how people respond when a male toddler tries to wear his sister's dress up clothes.  But someone who actually gives a shit about equality will be able to look at men and women and say "We both have our struggles.  I will support you in your search for equal rights and hear your grievances, and you will hear mine, and we can all work toward equality." 

Nobody who actually gives a shit about equality puts down an entire group of people in pursuit of their own cause.  "meninists" are not trying to accomplish anything, they're just pissed some girl didn't want to fuck them.  They blame it on "Oh it's because I don't look like Magic Mike," but chances are "I wanna see your tits" just wasn't the brilliant fucking pick up line they thought it was.  I'm telling you, people can complain about women being crazy and emotional all day, there is no bigger BSC whiny ass bitch than a white male who can't deal with rejection- real crazy is having a man go from hitting on you to threatening to harm you in the time it takes to say "no thanks."

Are there stereotypes about men that are unfair? Yup. Are there double standards that need to go away? Yup. Does this make their plight equivalent to the blatant and systematic oppression of women that has been going on for...well forever? Not even close.

If we could all hop aboard the feminism train instead of tearing feminists down because hey men's lives aren't 100% perfect these complaints they have would get addressed and EVERYONE - men and women - would be better off.

Also, have you noticed the "men's rights activists" (can't say that without gagging) don't actually DO anything to address the issues they raise?  It seems they prefer to sit back and yell at women and feminist's groups for not addressing "men's issues".
