  • Tonight: surprise birthday party for church friend. He's in the band with H, so I also got cake yesterday. 2 cakes = good.

Tomorrow: work in the morning, then Christmas with the in-laws. Probably heavy drinking after that.

Sunday: church in the morning, work in the afternoon.

Also in my free time I'm starting to write an erotica novel because I want to.

  • I'll finish wrapping gifts, assuming the rest arrive by then.

Trying to decide if it's too early to start baking this weekend. I make some candies which I can start but I'm worried that cookies will be stale by Christmas Even. Undecided - opinions appreciated!

Otherwise, lots of cleaning since we'll have houseguests 12/26 and 12/27.

Oh- and Hannukkah with my family on Saturday, (part of) DH's family for dinner on Sunday.

  • Tonight, FI will be having his first guitar lesson! He's really looking forward to it. I'll be cleaning house and adding in a few invitations (we haven't sent them yet) that my parents wanted to send if we had some extra invitations. They're paying for the wedding and wanted us to have our guest list all good before they add in a few of their friends so that FI and I have all of the people we want to invite first.

Tomorrow, we'll probably be finishing up those invitations so that we can take them to the post office after the holidays. We'll also go back to the suit shop since the alterations should be done.

Sunday, we're just going to try to relax. Probably bake some cookies/experiment with different cookie recipes. FI wants home-baked cookies for our favors so we need to try a few different recipes and pick which ones will be best.

    Awesome.

So does this make you a writer or an author?  Or neither?

    Just kidding.

I just heard the garage door open, which means FI is home, which means it's wine o'clock in my house.

ETA: Also have to do ALL THE BAKING, go see the Nutcracker, and make it to the store by Sunday night.  Fun times!

It's only 2:30 here.  I would love to drink wine now.  But there is something wrong with me drinking alone at home at this hour.

  • I'm going to DH's work holiday party tonight. I don't know why but I am pretty nervous! Its a pretty small pretty new company. I'm not dreading it but I've def been a little nervous all day. I think because I am leaving from work too, I wish I had time to go home first and relax a bit.

Do it so I can live vicariously through you. My boss took us to lunch at 11:30, said we could go home after, and that we could have a drink if we were going home after. H dropped me off at work today, so I don't have a car, and I didn't want to awkwardly wait around for him, so I declined. And now I am at work still and full of regret.

  • Tonight, FI and I are going to the mall and go Christmas shopping (I know, we have to be insane). I'm such a procrastinator this year. I have 3 whole gifts bought.

Tomorrow, we have to go see some of his family 2 hours away, just to turn around and drive another 2 and a half hours to see family friends.

Sunday is relaxing... I'm looking forward to Sunday.
  • I'm going to the gym and then making dinner.  All I have planned for the weekend is a hike, lunch with a friend, and sleeping in. I need to find a good book to start reading too.

  • Tonight me and FI are having dinner with some of my friends from high school. We get together every Christmas to catch up, and some of these people I've known since pre-school. Its usually fun times.

Tomorrow we are CLEANNNIINNNGGG and I'm baking my first ever homemade apple pie. FI's aunt gave me a pie plate for Christmas and I'm super excited to use it. However, I am not the best cook in the world so we may be having apple cobbler or whatever it ends up looking like.

Saturday night we are doing dinner with my parents, my grandmother, and my aunt from out of town that I haven't seen in YEARS so I'm excited for that too. :)

Sunday we are doing a whole bunch of nothing.
    Anniversary

  • Right now I am drinking wine, eating a rotisserie chicken and mashed potatoes. It's a good Friday night. Saturday-nothing and I am so happy. I am looking forward to staying in pjs all day. Sunday, church, lunch, shopping and more church. But I have two weeks off of work. Sweet freedom!
  • I'm about to make my own pasta. I have never done this before. It could get ugly. I have backup pre-made in case this goes horribly wrong.

Nutella gelato custard is chilling in the fridge, and the bread is in the oven.

I gotta finish taping the baseboards and then once I'm done with the pasta, I'm going to paint the bottom part of the walls. And then clean. A lot. I gotta clean everything ever.

  • I let H open his birthday present! He was super surprised! Then I realized I forgot to ask someone to watch the dogs... :confounded:

  • We will be signing the contract for our officiant! Also, taking a trip to the florist. I need to do more stuff though....

  • Christmas break is finally upon me, so tomorrow I look forward to playing WoW for the first time in a couple months. I plan to play all fucking day. Sunday, I am going to probably lie around and watch Lifetime movies I've recorded, but not the Christmas ones. I hate those.

  • Tonight: We just got back from visiting friends in southwest Michigan. I'm watching "Criminal Minds" on Netflix, and H is playing World of Warcraft. I might play some Hearthstone later.

Saturday: Going to get a real stereo installed in my car (yay, no more shitty, FM radio station hell), picking up 100 pounds of baking stuff so I can bake Christmas things

Sunday: Laundry, laughing at Cutler sitting on the bench, baking, more laughing at Cutler, more baking

I will watch your dogs, but only if they're rescues.

I stopped myself at 2 glasses of wine.  FI is working, which means I'll be up with him at 5:00, so I plan to make the most of my day before my night out with my mom and sister.  It's going to involve going to the store...the Saturday before Christmas...uggghhh

  • Poor DH.  He was told that dinner numbers would be around 20 people a night until mid-next week. Then they would go up to like 40-50.  Xmas eve would being around 200.    This was based on history.

Last night he had 50.  Tonight 90.    Xmas 250, with 50 people on a wait list.  NYE even more. Basically everything has been doubled.   They do not even have the wait staff to help.  Seriously, this time of year the restaurant manager normally works except for the time between xmas and ny.

Well the survey results where sent out to the members and they jumped from 62% satisfaction rate for food last year to 86%.  A lot of people who haven't been in for a while are now trying him out.

It's awesome they love his food. He is so stressed, especially because he doesn't think he ordered enough food for the weekend.

I wil not be surprised if they call me in to help tomorrow or Sunday.
