Theme question?

My fiance and I are having our wedding at a family friend's house in their back yard. There is a big barn, huge garden and it's just all around a beautiful place. Would it be weird to have a beach theme? Like have beach centerpieces, favors, etc.

Not at all. A cousin of mine did something similar and she had her wedding in a plane hangar. A friend of mine did hers in a barn and it was lovely. Never underestimate the power of linens. Just don't try to cover up everything. Get a few friends who have a good eye for decorating and have them bounce ideas off of each other and you can probably make it really beautiful.

I have to agree with Lucy.  In that setting, I'd think a beach theme seemed a little odd.
