I know I'm new here, but I'd just like to give a shout out to all the FI's, brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers, friends, cousins, etc. who serve our country in various ways. This may be an UO and you can all debate me however you want, but I am thankful everyday for the Thin Blue Line and for all of our troops that have served for us now and in the past. EVERY life deserves celebrating and EVERY life matters. God bless those that do the jobs we can't/won't/don't/etc.
FWIW, I'm NOT downgrading the lives lost the past year in extreme tragedy, but I will, and will continue to do forever, value the lives of all people-whatever race, religion, ethnicity, etc. I understand the overall issue at large regarding recent cases and am truly not trying to downplay any issues surrounding said cases. I've learned a lot from all of your comments and it's helped to enlighten me on a bit more, but please know that not ALL LEO's abuse their power. Please, please, please know that.
My FI is a LEO [police officer, former military] and I am so thankful that he is a good, kindhearted person. I cannot say that for every LEO, as witnessed in past events and other threads. Everyday, I am thankful that he comes home (even if it is at 4am) and he is unharmed and alive to see another day.
Merry Christmas to all of our LEO's and Military families! Whether our heroes are at home in person or not, please know that it is not in vain.
