Purchasing Invites from Michaels

I was thinking about buying the pre-boxed invitation sets from Michael's and feeding it through my printer. Any thoughts or recommendations about this? I do not want to pay hundreds of dollars to order invitations... it seems like the cheapest way?

  • They are fine.  Just make sure that your wording is correct before you print.

  • Purchased invitations from Michael's are perfectly acceptable and they are nice!

  • We are doing the same thing (although I haven't actually started printing yet, so - fingers crossed!) A lot of the sets we liked did not come with the full suite of response cards etc., so just remember if you find yourself in the same position you could make up your own additional cards by buying printable business cards or card stock also fairly cheap. Prices in your area may vary, but we ended up finding the same set we loved at Michaels for $5/set cheaper at Party City...worth a look. $5 is not much but every bit helps! If you're buying the ones with th flimsy plastic cover, try and check to make sure the paper isn't damaged, if you can -- we did find an issue with one of the four boxes we bought, but fortunately exchanging for an undamaged set was very easy.
