Oregon Beach Wedding

Where can I get info or ideas on where to get married on the beach? How much does it cost? Also where to have the reception at? Most hotels are too much. What about a state park or a park?
Any ideas would be GREAT!

Re: Oregon Beach Wedding

  • I would go to Traveloregon dot com and select 'coast'. They have info on each city/town and what there is to do there including hotels, restaurants, and state parks where you could have a venue.

What beach or region do you want to get married at? North, south, middle? How big is your wedding? What month is your wedding?

I know there is a Mcmenamins in Gearhart near Seaside that does weddings and my best friend got married on the beach in Florence. I think she just had an arch and 2 people stood on the sand while they did their vows and I'm pretty sure it was free.

Did you go to the Portland Bridal Show? I remember there were a few vendors from the coast. I bet you could look up their website for a list. Since the coast is a tourist area once you pick a city/town there should be wedding info on their web page with what's available.

  • What do you think of the Pelican Pub and Brewery in Lincoln City? I think that place would be great for a small wedding on the sand and the reception inside the restaurant.
    Also...
This summer I was at Rockaway Beach, OR. I saw St. Mary's by the Sea Chapel and it was really cute decorated with nautical fixtures. I noticed that they had a separate building with(9) 5 foot tables and an attached kitchen. I was impressed with both spaces and they are right on the ocean. I was thinking that if weather was permitting you could get married on the beach and if not in the chapel. There is also a train that runs through town that can be reserved for private parties and has a dinner car. They serve prime rib, salmon or pork loin 4 course meals That would make for a fun reception.  Here is a link   www.oregoncoast.com/stmarys/index.html

  • Florence also has Heceta Head lighthouse, which does weddings. You just have to be prepared for a windy day, unless you have your wedding in the morning, when there is usually less wind.

I also had looked into Shore Acres State Park just south of Coos Bay. It's a beautiful garden next to the ocean. They have a 100 person maximim, including any vendors, which is why we couldn't do it. You also have to rent most of the things for a reception, and bring your own food. You can have the reception also at the nearby Sunset Bay Park, that has a hall to rent, and can be combined with Shore Acres. I think the combined price was $300.

  • I am from the Oregon Coast, Newport.  I was also thinking about this option.   There are permits that you need to get.  You need to call Ocean Shores.  I think the number is  (541) 265-7783.
