Disney World Honeymoon

My FH and I are thinking about Disney World for our Honeymoon in early October. Neither of us has been as adults but I've read its a great place to go without kids. Is anyone else looking at Disney?

I'm also open to other suggestions that are non-beach places. We aren't really go to the beach people...we both burn terribly! Thanks!

  • Disney is really great even without kids! I live a few hours south and I'm a certified junkie (got engaged there). I would definitely advocate staying on property if you can; makes it easy to get from place to place. Do you know where you want to stay?

  • We spent Christmas at Disney last year, just the two of us, and had a great time. Totally recommended for adults if you don't mind crowds and kids. We ate great food and drank great cocktails and rode tons of rides and generally had a blast.

We're not even big into Disney stuff (I don't think I've even seen a film since I was a kid) but the whole atmosphere and experience is still super fun. However, for us we wouldn't have wanted to spend our entire vacation there - we were on a road trip, anyway - because a couple of days was enough and then we wanted to check out something else. But we had so much fun while we were there and I'd recommend it for sure if you're more into active vacations than relaxing ones.

  • We're not planning on honeymooning there, but I got engaged there during my fiancé's first trip there.  Early October shouldn't be busy at all. And as PPs have said, stay property.  Fiancé is already planning his next trip to Disney.

  • FI and I just booked our Disney World honeymoon! I burn easy and he isn't a beachy person anyway. We just want to have fun and he had heard a lot of people talking about the adult activities that disney has for people.

Have you thought about hotels? I agree with PP about staying either on site or close. We are staying at Lake Buena Vista, but Disney also has their own resort right beside the park. Have fun!

  • H & I went to Disney in Nov 2013 and it was awesome!  It wasn't overly crowded.  The longest wait we had was just over an hour at Space Mountain.  You shouldn't have much of a difference crowd wise.

Check out undercovertourist.com for discounted tickets, best days to go to which park, and lots of other tips.  Remember the restaurants start booking 180 days out, so start making reservations as soon as you can.  You can always cancel them as you get closer, if you know you won't be able to use it.  Our favorite was the dessert buffett that ended with a fantastic view of the firework show at Magic Kingdom.  You do need to pre-pay for that when you book it.
