Guest Transportation suggestions

Does anyone have any suggestions for companies to use for the guest shuttles to and from the hotel to reception venue?  I have a quote for a school bus rental, but I was looking for van or smaller bus shuttle quotes.

Thanks

Re: Guest Transportation suggestions

  • What part of town will you be in? How many guests?

I'll be shuttling people downtown within a 2mile radius and I'm dreading calling people because I'm sure the cost will be exorbitant. How much was the school bus quote if I can ask?

I plan to talk to Shamrock Limo, Anderson Coach, Elite Coach, and Molly's Trolleys (for the wedding party) to start.
  • Finding a shuttle was the most boring part of wedding planning!  I suggest contacting coach transportation companies, as they are so much cheaper than those that advertise for weddings specifically.  I went with Lenzner Coach Lines.  For 8 hours (this includes the time the shuttle waits between ceremony/reception, etc) of a 56-person shuttle, it was slightly over $900. They have smaller shuttle options which are cheaper (I think a 25 person one was about $600-ish for 8 hours).  However, these shuttles are not pretty or luxury, per my conversation with their staff.  Since my wedding is not until June, I can't speak to the experience yet, but the price was right in the planning stages!

I am using Pittsburgh Transportation Group for my wedding in August. I have found them very easy to work with. Tracy gave me several  different options for my needs and budget. They have everything from taxis to 55 person shuttles.

  • Ya I already have transportation for the wedding party.  The school bus quote was $350 or $450 I think.  Which really isn't that bad, but I was just hoping maybe something else would be cheaper.  Another place quoted me $650.  So that wasn't good either.  I am outside of the city in the suburbs, but I am not sure if that helps or hurts my situation.

  • i rented 2 56 passenger busses for $1400. I think you have some good quotes.
  • a side note for anyone for pittsburgh transportation group, if you work for UPMC they give a discount

  • Could you please provide me with the name of the company that rents school buses? Thank you!
  • I got some quotes from Elite Coach.  They have 28 person passenger shuttles for $630 each for 5 hours.  Also an Executive Van for 4 hours for 28 people for $504.  I'm getting one Exec Van for the bridal party which will include riding around taking photos.  Passenger shuttles will pick up guests at 2 hotels and loop to the venue and back twice to try to get everyone to the venue within an hour.   Two of the shuttles will return for 3 hours toward the end of the evening and loop back and forth to the hotels to drive everyone home.  Total cost is $1764 to move 100 guests from and back to hotel plus the 20 person bridal party for 3 hours of photos and drop off at the venue.  Amazing how much everything adds up! Ask if the companies have other than the luxury wedding transportation.  I was ready to rent a wedding limo for $1000 when they said to save money I could rent an Exec Van for 1/2 the price.
