Loft Style Wedding Locations in Fox Cities/Fox Valley?

Hi Everyone! I just got engaged over New Years. I am in the process of relocating to the Fox Cities and for ease of planning would like to have our wedding there as well. I would love to find an old building or loft to rent for the ceremony and reception. Both will be very small and informal. I'd rather not have the wedding in a typical reception style banquet hall. Any suggestions? Thanks!!!

  • How many guests is "small" because this can be from 10 to 400 depending on the size of your family/friends especially in this area!

If you're thinking super tiny (say 20)- check out the Red Mill by Waupaca...  Beautiful site for a small event with a chapel and covered bridge on the property.  There also are lots of hotels within a few minutes drive.

Lambeau Field also rents out for receptions if you REALLY want a non-traditional site!

There's a park in Appleton that my cousin had his reception at that was entirely indoors and loft type feel - unfortunately I can't remember of the name of it...

The Houdini Museum in Appleton is another place to check out..

    EAA Museum in Oshkosh...

    Hope this helps!!!

  • Yes, that does help. Currently our rough draft of the guest list is 98 adults and 22 kids, but we are hoping to get that down to 100 or less. There is a place in the Third Ward of Milwaukee that I love, Cuvee, and I was hoping to find something similar to that in Fox Cities. I'll try to find that park in Appleton. Thanks!
  • If you love the site in Milwaukee - why not go there???  It's not like it' THAT far away!?!

I know of a site similar look/feel but over in Prairie du Chien of all places LOL...  The Houdini Museum is your closest for look/feel in the Fox Valley though...

Have you checked out Kohler yet??  The only challenge is they're likely a little spendier...

  • I havent checked out Kohler yet, but will. The place in MKE is just a bit pricey - given it's in the Third Ward. We only live 20 mins away from there now, but we moving to the Valley next month. So travel wise it is fine, but the price... I could leave it :)
  • I was also looking at loft style spaces in the Fox Valley for our wedding and had a really hard time finding anything.  I did come across two contenders though; the Old 41 venue in Green Bay borders on rustic but sort of has that open warehouse/loft feel (http://www.olde41.com/).  The Paper Discovery Center in Appleton was a bit too small for us but the pictures look pretty cool (http://www.paperdiscoverycenter.org/hall-rental/).  Good luck!
