Fit for a Bride no longer delivers

Ugh. I had heard great things about Fit for a Bride and was so happy to find a service to receive in, steam, and deliver my dress and my guy's attire for our wedding next month since, like most of us, we're coming from out of state. However. I just went on their website to fill out a reservation form and saw that they no longer deliver garments to hotels. You have to do a pick up at their storefront, which looks to be off strip, and about a 15-minute drive from the airport.

Does anyone know of another similar service you can ship to who will steam and deliver? It's not the end of the world, but we're not planning to rent a car, and I was really hoping to avoid additional run around before the wedding by booking delivery!

Is this for real?  I completed the reservation form not long ago and they said they'd deliver for a fee... Hmmmm....  I even got an email from Debi confirming it.

I called the shop and the owner said they just made the new policy where delivery is not part of their service. She said that too many hotels don't work well with them and a lot of her clients complained that the hotels didn't take good care of the attire when it was delivered (e.g., cramming it into a closet or luggage room) and the items were wrinkled or damaged. She didn't want to assume the liability overall to continue the delivery service, even though she said some hotels were very good about being careful.

The good news is that she said they will work on a one-off basis with only certain hotels (for an additional fee - $25). Luckily, mine is one of them, so I can arrange for it when I book (she told me to add a comment into the order form that we had talked on X date about X arrangements).

So, hope is not totally lost, fellow brides! Just be sure to call to see if our hotel is one the shop will work with, and get the pre-confirmation first!

That's a bummer! I just used them and loved them! Ladies, let your hotel wedding coordinators know that this is something important to you and maybe they can work with management on a policy to make this go more smoothly so maybe fit for a bride can so this again in the future

Just heard from Debi, and she said that they are honoring delivery for reservations made before the change in the policy.... shew!

I know it's an inconvenience, but I'm actually kind of glad to hear this because I think it is going to prevent a lot of frustration and problems in the future.  You guys can read about the experience I had with Donna over there and how she ruined the whole day before my wedding, including interrupting my rehearsal because of screwing up my delivery.  That had nothing to do with the hotel at all.  I'm not saying that there aren't some hotels that aren't careful with dresses.  I'm sure that's the case.  That said, if you're having a wedding at a hotel or obviously staying there during your wedding vacation, hotels aren't going to go out of their way to be careless with one of the most important elements of your day that you're trusting them with.  At least, you wouldn't think so.  I think this has a lot to do with whatever is going on over at Fit For A Bride that made them great in the past (based on reviews) to downright unprofessional and untruthful these days.  Just like when I dealt with Donna, they didn't want to take ANY responsibility for their own fucks ups.  I think this is just one more way of covering their own asses.  Again though, in the long run, I think it's going to be a lot better for the brides and they really are not far at all from the strip.  If you don't have a rental car, there are TONS of minivan or SUV taxis in Vegas and the cost to and from FFAB's store from most places on the strip would be less than the extra fees they were charging to deliver anyway.

Damn now wishing I'd been more organised and booked earlier. Any ideas if they deliver to cosmopolitan or aria still?

I'm at Aria.  They are delivering to me, but I reserved before they changed the policy. Good luck!
