Shoes for beach wedding

Hi All!

I wanted to see what shoes you recommend for a beach wedding. I would like to wear heels but I do not know if that will be practical. Let me know any alternatives!

My friend went barefoot since she got married in the sand. She tried out heels and wedge-heels a few days before and said she almost twisted her ankle. If your getting married on a dock or another hard surface, heels might work though. Otherwise, try nice sandals maybe?

As a guest, I took off my shoes and went barefoot as well. It is almost impossible to walk in heels in the sand.

I live at the beach and hate shoes at the beach. Shoes (even sandals) can be kind of annoying in the sand. Sand gets into them and they can slow you down in a weird way. Have you considered something like this? I think they are called barefoot sandals.

I am getting married at the beach and I plan to wear footless sandals. If there is a reception that is not on the beach then you could wear the heels..

Sounds good! I've looked in the barefoot sandals and there are some nice lace ones. I was thinking also doing the same for my bridesmaid. I'm only on the fence because I know my feet will eventually get tired if I were to wear heels at the reception and then I will put on flats. But, I always thought heels in pictures always looked nice. 

One day I will make up my mind, it has to be soon though since I have my first dress fitting in one month!!

My friend found some really pretty blinged out sandle similar to the pic in the upper right hand corner from the second poster. My friend however opted for a blinged metallic style & she wears the in the summer still when going out. I think it's awesome that she has something from her wedding she can wear on a regular basis (besides her rings) that reminds her of her special day.
