Really bad grease burn....

Re: Really bad grease burn....

  • So guys. My boob burn looks awful today. It's a little worse than I thought :S

But another tip for any other clumsy burn victims out there: mix raw aloe oil, coconut oil, hemp seed oil, and vitamin E oil. Put it on the burn. Most of the redness and blisters have gone away already and it doesn't hurt but there are 3 spots that are dark purple and bad so I guess I'll just have to wait for it to heal... (That same mixture added to regular unscented lotion is AWESOME fur sunburns, and if you put it in the fridge to chill it just feels that much better)

I'd show you guys a pic but ya know... it's my boob.
You can rub lavender oil and oregano oil on the burn to help it heal faster. Probably wouldn't feel so hot, but saltwater is good for helping a burn. My grandma used to have us soak a grease burn in fresh sea water, and it always helped alot... Cooling plus the salt keeps it from getting infected.
ooh I actually have some lavender oil! Thanks!

  • Ouch!

I burned my hand pretty badly with molten sugar the day before Thanksgiving. It hurt like hell for just over a week, complete with huge blister. It's still not healed.

Do you have a blister? If not, continue with the aloe or your potion. If there is, don't lance it- my ER nurse friend looked at my hand and told me not to. Once it breaks, Eucerin helped a lot.

I hope it feels better soon!

Thanks for the advice! One of the blisters has already gone away on its own. There's two bad ones, though, so I've just been putting my potion on because I remember when I burned my hand really bad a couple years ago I was told to keep the burn moisturized so it could heal better. I will definitely not lance the blisters! Even if it was the right thing to do, it would gross me out too much :P

  • I've heard of putting honey on a burn to help reduce pain and help it heal quicker and research online seems to support that there may be something to the claim.  I've tried it before and I'm not sure it was that successful at reducing pain.  But, my burn had started to blister immediately and the next day it was hardly even red anymore.  I also had used Makuna Honey, which is supposed to have one of the highest anti-bacterial properties of all honeys. But, all honey (except maybe processed corn syrup fake honeys) have antibiotic properties that supposedly can work similar to Neosporin on burns and cuts.

All I got from this post was quesadilla. And extreme jealousy. (Grease burns do suck, though, I hope it heals soon!)
