Ceremony Music

My fiance and I are getting married in the chapel at Allaire State Park and need to find someone for ceremony music. Our DJ has a list of people they use but it is a bit pricey. Does anyone know of single or duo violinist that can play for 1-1.5 hours without being very expensive? We are trying to keep it simple and as inexpensive as possible.

A few years ago my brother and sister in law were married at the chapel and then about 2 yrs ago a friend was married there as well. They both just used a radio and an ipod. It's cheap and inexpensive especially bc you won't be there for a long time.

  • My DH and I were looking to do this as well.  But we couldn't find anyone within our budget for just those 1.5 hours we needed.  We talked to our DJ and he said to just send over what music we wanted and we were able to find beautiful instrumentals of what we were looking for.  They only charged us an extra $100 for the ceremony.

  • Have you decided what you are going to do? I'm going to need someone too.  Our DJ is doing our cocktail hour music.  I wonder if I should just ask him if he could do something also.  What would it cost to have someone for an hour?  Would have to be someone local to be worth it for them I guess.
  • Our DJ provided ceremony music.

What's "expensive"?  We paid about $900 for ceremony and cocktail hour a couple years ago for three musicians.  We found most were around that price.   Maybe you can find a college-aged student?  Do you have a local neighborhood social media page where you can throw the request out there?
