Formality of Thank Yous?

How formal should my thank you notes be addressed?  Is "John and Jane Doe" appropriate, or do I go with "Mr. and Mrs. Jane and John Doe"? 

Maybe it's just because I've been pretty informal my whole life (we called our teachers by their first names in school, and all my friends called my parents by their first names), but Mr./Ms./Mrs. just seems a bit formal for a TY note.  But, I don't know because I'm having a very formal wedding (not black tie, but very formal).

Are you talking about the envelope or the wording on the inside of thank you card?

Envelope I would use formal titles but for the thank you card I would use the names you call your guests by so if it is going to one of your parents friends...

Envelope:  Mr. and Mrs. John Smith

Inside card:  Sherri and John

I meant on the envelope.

Thanks so much!  Like I said, my family and I have always been informal, so sometimes it's hard for me to guage when to address someone more formally

Yeah I would use Mr. & Mrs. on the envelopes and use first names inside. I don't think thank you notes need to be that formal despite your wedding being formal. People like stuff that is from the heart so just be sincere. Good luck.
