Teen Daughter Role in Wedding

Can someone please give me suggestions on what role my 18 year old daughter can be in my wedding? I was thinking a junior bridesmaid or maid of honor.

She should be your MOH. Junior bridesmaid is a made up title and she's 18. She's not a junior. She's an adult.

  • She is an adult at 18, treat her as any other adult you would like to honour in your wedding. I think MoH would be a lovely role for her.

Bridesmaid or maid of honor. As 18 is an adult, junior is inappropriate.
At 18, junior is an insult.
"Junior" bridesmaid is an insult at 18, 12, or even 7 years old.  A bridesmaid is a bridesmaid is a bridesmaid, no such thing as Junior Bridesmaid.
  • Bridesmaid (no jr.) or MOH. Either one is fine. People have had MOHs that are a lot younger than 18.

An alternative to being in the WP would be to have her do a reading.

  • MOH, bridesmaid, or reader.
  • Maid of honor or bridesmaid. Or potentially a reader, but it sounds like you want her in the wedding party.

I do think a jr. bridesmaid title is ok in some cases (the only time I've seen it, the jr. BM was a 7-year-old), but most certainly not for an 18-year-old.  For the record, I had my 13-year-old sister as a BM, no jr. title.
