I have such a first world problem.

I've been working out with my trainer at my gym twice a week for a year. We do half hour sessions starting at 4 every Tuesday and Thursday. She told me last night that she's going to have to bump me to 4:30 on Thursdays because she has a new client coming in. And of course, my favorite spin class is on Thursdays at 4:45!

I'm going to have to break up with her for Thursdays, because this spin class is just that good.

What's your first world problem today?

Re: I have such a first world problem.

  • I feel ya. Disruptions to my normal schedule make me batty.

The break room on my floor is out of the yummy seasonal k-cups. I plan to wait until the breakfast/coffee crowds clear out to either go raid a break room a floor above or below me.

  • That sucks! I hate when my schedule gets messed up.

My first world problem today is having to work. I have a cold and just don't feel like being very therapeutic today, and I'm letting little things piss me off because I don't feel good. I'm considering going home at lunch, even though I only work 4 hours tomorrow too (but that's part of my regular schedule)

Your work provides k-cups?! I'm so jealous.

The over abundance of crap they provide used to be embarrassingly ridiculous. Then the industry started experiencing really rough times and they've cut waaaaay back. It's a total luxury that honestly we could do without. (But I'm not going to stop drinking free yummy coffee)

  • I almost posted this thread yesterday.

Our detached garage doesn't have a man door, just the big door. I keep one garage door opener in my car and one in the house. Yesterday my H thought it might be fun to take the house opener to work with him. So my car was trapped in the garage and I had to take the truck. The 1984 POS truck that may or may not die. And I had to actually start it myself and scrape snow and ice.

    Waaaahhhh.

Sounds like YH has a project come spring - that thing needs a door!

Wait, what am I missing?! She's just straight up bumping you for a new client?? Instead of telling that client "I already have someone scheduled at that time, you will need to choose another time slot". I don't get on what planet does someone just bump their client out for a new one. I'd say no motherfucker, that was my time and I intent to keep it.

My FWP- my dad sent a Christmas card with a check in it (they live 10 states away). It got lost somewhere in transit so I never got it and he's sending a new one. So I'm getting money soon....but I wanted it 3 weeks ago. lol

Yeah, I'm trying really hard not to be pissed about that, because she really is such a nice lady. But I'm guessing since this new client wants an hour session and I'm just a half hour, that makes her more important in her eyes. It sucks.
  • I'd be pissed too if you've been with her for that long and she bumped you.

I'm still getting over being sick and I'm extremely tired. I do not want to be on my way to work right now.

I have similar issues. All the classes at my gym are apparently geared toward either SAHMs or people who work 5 minutes away. I don't get home til 6 or a little after, so I'd need classes starting between 7-8 but there's nothing good in the evening. My Pilates studio used to have the perfect level 2 class at 6:30 but they changed instructors on me and I don't like the new one. What do these motherfuckers expect me to do, work out at 6am? Nope. Guess I'll just get squishyier.

  • My friend is coming up for the weekend and she usually stays with her aunt, but they got in a fight so it looks like she's staying with me.  I love my friend, but I can't stand house guests!  48 hours of being "on" is way too much for this introvert!

Plus I have to seriously clean the house.

I'm facing the same issue with trying to get into a yoga class. My MIL goes to a yoga studio with an awesome instructor but all of her classes are when I'm at work or crazy early on the weekends. They're either at 7 am or 5 pm on weekdays and I have to leave for work by 7:40 and don't get home until 5:45. I suppose I could get my butt up and go on Saturdays but I'd like to be able to go more than once a week. Other studios aren't much better with their hours around where I live.

My gym tends to do the same thing. A lot of the classes are during the week in the morning.
  • We have an AMAZING little gym here in our work building that only costs us $10 per pay period to be a member of.  They offer classes in the morning, over lunch, and right after work.  It's awesome!

I won't be partaking of much this week though because what FI thought was a sinus infection brought on by allergies for him has taken us all in the house down with a yucky cold.  I wouldn't be here today if it wasn't the work chili potluck.

my dad every fall cleans out one side of the detached garage for me. i hate scrapping windows and i never get up in time to do them before leaving in the morning. well i will be moving out soon and the house we are moving to the city condemned the garage and wont let us rebuild it so my car gets to sit out in the cold and collect snow. WAHHHH

  • We have a really nice employee gym in our building, but the idea of being here before 8 or after 5 gives me the sads.

I really have no excuse except I'd rather jog with my dog after work since he's been chilling by himself all day.

  • I just didn't want to work today. I don't have a reason. I'm not exceptionally tired, I'm not sick. I just need a "fuck this shit" day. I think I'm going to negotiate FTS days into my schedule in March, if I get to negotiate at all. (I'm looking for advice on how to get a raise, by the way, so if anyone out here gives raises, how do I go about it?)

Also my four day weekend that I thought I had coming up? The doctor's appointment got moved, and we don't actually close for MLK Day. Which is probably why I need a FTS day now - I was looking forward to that, even though it's better since I don't get paid to not be here.

Also I am making a cat, but I can't crochet at work, so I left it at home, and I'm not 100% sure what stitch I'm on.

We're going to Australia (yay!) The first part will be Sydney. We can't decide on staying in Port Douglas, or the Whitsunday Islands for the second leg.

Sadly, I can't help as I've never been to that part of the world. But that sounds like such a fun trip!

  • I won a free VIP dinner for tonight to a new BBQ restaurant that's opening so I'm taking my best friend on a girl's night.

...which means that I'm missing out on DH cooking veal chops. WAAAAAH.
