Already Wednesday?

Good morning!

I was off on Monday (we were supposed to close and didn't, shocker!) and yesterday work was pretty busy and now it's already Wednesday!

I had a blast in Aruba! The weather was perfect and I ate/drank/danced/laughed my butt off. Today I woke up not feeling great. My nose and throat are not happy to be back in this cold Jersey weather.

I'm sure you're all probably sick of hearing about it but like I said, we didn't close on Monday. I allowed myself about 10 minutes of being sad/mad/frustrated because seriously, what the FUCK, but then I moved on. We're OFFICIALLY closing tomorrow at 3pm. I can say officially because I have been reassured by all parties involved that everything is cleared and ready to go now. So yay!

We're going to the house afterwards to paint the kitchen, dining room, and upstairs bathroom. We're leaving the rest as is for the time being until we decide on furniture. Friday is the big moving day AND we have a brand new beautiful king-sized bed being delivered so that'll be our first night sleeping in the house. My mom is FINALLY bringing the babies up on Saturday and I'm probably most excited about that :)

@Swazzle Can I say and early Congrats?!
What color are you painting the kitchen?
I love some house decorating porn.
And yay about the bed!I'm jealous!
We still haven't changed or smaller than queen to a queen.

I'm happy that it's Wednesday actually, and happy to see this
week go by.I have to start on samples for a customer, but the shops
I buy supplies from, haven't send back all the Christmas stuff so I'm waiting.
And I had no luck finding a yellow dress and a good priced
    restaurant for the party...yet.

  • @swazzle, glad you had fun in Aruba! Crossing all the things for closing tomorrow.

I have writing to review this morning (job security. It's a beautiful thing.), and my first day of class is today. Fi and I will go shopping after church tonight - we're looking for ties for him and his brother (BM) to wear at the wedding. We have one of the teal daisies to match and find them ... ugh, this could be difficult, but at least we have a sample to match to.
  • @swazzle -Yay! I'm so happy for you. It's been a long time coming. I'm also jealous of your Aruba trip! It looked like it was a blast!

Not much going on today. I took a break from CrossFit yesterday and just lounged around. Tonight I need to go get my oil changed and get some maintenance done.

We finally were able to get our car back after it being in the shop for like 10,000 years. It's nice not have to drive around MIL's car anymore even though I really liked it. It just felt like I was driving a tank.
  • @swazzle Yay I'm so excited for you and the house!!!!! Squee!!!!! I'm jealous of the king sized mattress too

I'm tired today and crabby for no real reason other than it's cold and I don't want to be at work.  I want to be home reading. I downloaded The Giver the other night, hopefully tonight I will have some time to read.

I need to go to Sephora after work, I ran out of eyeliner.  I typically use the clinque roll up eyeliner, I may look for something else to try for fun. If anyone has any suggestions let me know.

    Anniversary

  • @allusive007 - how exciting!!!  I hope you can find some time for a nice relaxing bath (if you have one!) and get some rest.  :)
  • @swazzleimage

    Snuggle those furbabies like crazy!!!

southernpeach89 I can't believe how long they had your car for!

My bf is helping his brother move to Texas and won't be back until Monday, so it is going to be a girls weekend for me.

Last night we took measurements of the master bedroom, dining room, and living room then measured all of the furniture we have.  We then drew out how furniture would fit in each of the rooms.  It will be a tight squeeze, but we figured out a way to get everything in and have space to walk around.  Then we got really cheesy and claimed which seats would be ours on the couch.  A few more weeks and we should be ready to move in.

  • Morning all!

@Swazzle - UGH sorry you couldn't close on Monday, but good vibes for everything going well tomorrow!

I've been feeling off and under the weather for a few days now and do not want to be at work. I actually took yesterday off because my stomach was really bothering me and I was feeling overwhelmed about a bunch of things and just needed a day. Still feeling a bit off today, but not awful.

I'm glad I took yesterday off, but getting up for work this morning really solidified that I don't like my job all that much anymore. I've been feeling like this for a while, I don't feel challenged and I don't feel like there's anywhere for me to grow here. No one's been getting raises because of "the budget", and a lot of us here are feeling very under appreciated. I don't have time to look for a new job right now, but I've mentioned to FI that if things don't change here I will start looking for a new job this summer. There may be an opportunity to cover a maternity leave here, which would be slightly different work and good for my resume, so if that materializes I'll stay for that, but otherwise I think I'm ready to move on.

In other (better) news, I checked some wedding stuff off yesterday and FI and I had a great conversation about house stuff. We know what work we want to do right away (the weekend that we close), and what other work we want to do through the summer. Our next priority is to decide what washer-dryer we want so FMIL can hunt for a good deal for us. YAY!

  • HOOOOOOOOORRRRRRAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY @swazzle!!! I am so so so SO happy for you, Sisser, and I cannot WAIT to get down there & see it :) I also can't wait for you to have all of your babies back together. <3

I'm glad it's already Wednesday. I have been super busy the last two days with work, so they've flown by.

I've been emailing with our coordinator about tables & chairs for the reception. I'm contemplating long tables instead of round. Thoughts? Keep in mind, we aren't doing a formal sit-down dinner, and it's a semi-small reception (80 people). She's going to mock up some layouts & send them to me, so that will give me a better idea.

  • @swazzle YAAAAAY! I'm so glad you're closing for sure and getting your babies back this weekend. Totally jealous of the king size bed too. Anything in particular you guys want or need for the new house?

@peaseblossom55 I love the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On pencils for eyeliner. They can be kinda pricey though, so sometimes I'll just use wet eyeshadow as eyeliner.

@lmcooper86 *hugs* I'm glad you took yesterday off, and I really hope a new job opportunity pops up soon!

@allusive007 Your pregnancy is flying by! I hope this weekend you're able to take a day to relax in bed.

@LaPeanut1018 You'll definitely knock your performance review out of the park :)

@southernpeach89 YAY for getting your car back!

I've been having very vivid, weird nightmares the past few nights. Not really sure what's going on there, but tonight I may take a Benadryl so I can have dreamless sleep.

My arms are still really sore and bruised from the allergy shots yesterday, but I think I'm going to attempt the gym tonight anyway. First time back in about 6 weeks! I'm going to die! lol

  • @GoldenPenguin Will you have those high-top cocktail tables anywhere at all? I think the layout with the long tables looks really beautiful (like gorgeous beautiful!)...I just feel like smaller, circular tables are more conducive to conversation. Yeah, people will move around and socialize but I think they'll also spend some time sitting in small groups and long rectangles don't fit that image for me.

  • Happy Birthday @Blackbird230 ! Enjoy your edible arrangement! I love chocolate covered fruit!

LaPeanut1018, they look beautiful and the tall cocktail tables could be enough for conversation areas.

    Blackbird230 Happy birthday!!!

*eta -- Ugh I have a headache and can't spell or see.

  • @lapeanut1018 & @speakeasy14 - that's a good idea, I should ask them about that too! Thanks :)

  • @Swazzle - That's an insanely great update!

@marylab - Is there a reason for a yellow dress, in particular? Or do you just really love yellow?

@allusive007 - This pregnancy is flying by! Oh my goodness!

    -----------------------------------

Life sucks right now. I'm going to have to start running five days a week again, which was wearing my body down a lot last time I tried that. Unfortunately my dog's mid-week energy outlet is now gone, and until the sun starts setting later it's too hard for me to get him to the dog park during the week....... I was just SO HAPPY I had found a place for him to go so I didn't have to walk him at lunch every single day....... Anyway, I cried yesterday when I found out, haha. Fortunately, this is the worst part of my life. So maybe I should stop complaining. At least with all that running I can eat pretty much whatever I want.

In other news, BF has had an insanely bad toothache for the last week, and is finally getting in to see the dentist today. No joke, his gums were turning blue. It was terrible. I am so excited he is finally getting this dealt with.

  • Ugh, I was typing and didn't get the update.

Happy Birthday @Blackbird230! So, how old are ya?

@goldenpenguin I love long tables! They look beautiful with matching centerpieces,
but as mentioned I've seen people later change places to talk with others that
are not sitting next to them.
Just throwing an idea here,if you like the look but want to make it easier
    for guests,maybe split them?
You can have 4-6-10 etc. tables, something you can't do with rounds.
    Something like this?

    image

    @AlPacina I would love a yellow/green striped/silver theme for the party.
So I have matching invitations and favors etc.and wanted matching outfits.
It's easy to get Fi an emerald or green shirt but I can't seem to find a dress :(
I saw some prom/too formal ones and their too expensive too,I would like something
simple yet something I could wear again.

I feel you with running..it's calm before the storm situation here.
It was fun and awful in September, and orders tend to come from nowhere suddenly
and I'm drowning! And damn!Fi has to go to the dentist too to fix some teeth and have
    a filling,but I can't make him go!

    Happy Birthday!! @Blackbird230

  • @eilis1228 My clinque eyeliner is about $14 I'll take a look today and check it out. thank you

    @blackbird230 Happy birthday!!

@GoldenPenguin long tables could be different and fun.  I went to a reception with long table, I didn't find it any harder to talk to the people at the other end of the table than it would be to talk to someone on the other side of a round table. The table sat like 8-10 I think.

    Anniversary

  • @Swazzle - Congrats!!!!  I'm so excited to see pictures once you paint.

    @Blackbird230 - Happy birthday!

@GoldenPenguin - I think long tables are beautiful...how many are you thinking to sit at each table if they are long?  Will it impact any place settings/cost?

@Speakeasy14 - Yeah for moving in!!!

@eilis1228 - Ugh, I remember giving myself allergy shots (my insurance charged me $25 per visit to administer them, so I did them myself).  Are you doing them yourself?  If so, are you rolling up your arms enough to get them in the fat of the arm (not that you have much...you are so tiny).  I sympathize though...when I was doing allergy shots, my arms swelled up like crazy and hurt.  I gave up on them eventually but they did ease my symptoms (and still do).  How long do you have to take them?

@allusive007 - Man time is flying by!  Can't wait to see your little one!

    @LaPeanut1018 - Fingers crossed for a bonus!

@lmcooper86 - What kind of washer/dryer are you leaning towards?

    -------------------------------

Join me in the cranky department today.  H started a small spat for no reason this morning just because he didn't feel like communicating with me about schedules/workers/keys.  We made up but, ugh, I hate starting a day all frustrated.

I'm so sore...I did an interval class yesterday as well as yoga so my upper body hurts like hell.  Think I'm doing lower body today.  I have to say though, giving up alcohol during the week does a body good...my belly is much, much flatter...which is what I try to remind myself of when I want a glass of wine at night.  :)

  • Just passing through to say 'Hello'!!  Work has been crazy - but I'm getting back to "my basics" which is good.  I basically have the same job title as a bunch of others in my department but my position is a little more 'specialized' and uses more brain power.

    Happy Birthday, @Blackbird230!

@minskat30 No, I have to go to the allergist's office and have them administered by a nurse. :( I don't know if she just butchers it, or if my arms really are that sensitive to them. I've kind of noticed a lessening of the symptoms overall, but I don't really feel like they're worth the hassle. The ENT and the allergist want me to stay on them at least until the fall. How were you able to do them yourself? Also, you're inspiring me to get back on the exercise bandwagon! I love that feeling of waking up in the morning and feeling a flat tummy and having energy. You even grow to love the sore muscles after a while too. I'm glad you're sticking to your regime and seeing results!

@peaseblossom55 The Urban Decay eyeliner is about $19, so not too much more. It's really creamy and pigmented, and I don't notice smudging throughout the day. During the week I'm really lazy with my makeup and only wear eyeliner and mascara on my eyes, and it stays in place even without a primer.

ETA: I can't seem to find motivation to do much work today... instead I've been browsing the internet doing research on silk flowers. Originally a cousin of mine was going to do melted plastic spoon roses for me, but she's had some medical issues pop up, and I told her not to worry about bouquets for me. My mom and FMIL told me to start looking at fall-colored silk flowers now because they're likely on sale... and now I'm totally overwhelmed by the world of silk flowers and wedding bouquets lol.
