Pissed.

So my work posts our paychecks on Tuesdays, we get paid every Friday. I just checked mine and I didn't get paid holiday pay for Memorial Day - which makes my paycheck $70 short. I called my HR and they just gave me some national 800 # to call, which is of course set to EST. Today is the last day to make changes to it and have them post in time to get paid correctly. I'm so pissed, my student loan is due with this paycheck and the paycheck is barely enough to cover it - if I don't eat or drive anywhere.

Gah! That sucks, I'm sorry.  FI and I both got raises @ work, we were told they would be on this last friday's check. Mine was, but we got a phone call from work at like seven in the morning, with HR freaking out because FI's raise hadn't gone on his, so they just cut him a check to make the difference. That wouldn't have been such a big deal, but they taxed BOTH checks because of their stupid mistake.  Grr........why must people be so incompetent sometimes?

Oh no... I'd blow a gasket if it were me.  A few months ago they decided I didn't need a $250 commission check and I damn near walked out.

They have to tax both checks. Raises aren't exempt from taxes.

I never said I thought it was exempt and I know they have to tax ANY check they give.  I just thought it was annoying that they forgot to put it on his orginal check to begin with, that's all.

Sorry I misread, I thought you said it wouldn't have been a big deal except they taxed both checks. My mistake.

It's alright, when I reread it sounds really strange.  I was very annoyed when I posted that.  BTW congratulations on the married life jenny! Any tips you'd like to share with us on married life and/or wedding planning?

Thanks!! For wedding planning - don't take anything too seriously. You have to always remember what the ultimate goal is (marrying your fiance) and don't sweat anything else. I think my wedding was perfect because I honestly didn't care if things went according to plan..

As for married life - I don't know if I have any advice! We have lived together for 5 years so it's really not much different. Maybe just always remember to think of your husband and to always work on the relationship no matter how good things are. It will be never ending work, but definitely worth it!
