So Maroon 5 has a new song out, and for the video, they allegedly crashed a bunch of weddings and performed it <clicky>. I'm not going to lie, I wouldn't have even been mad. Then again, I love me some Maroon 5.

What do you think?!?!

ETA: I think the song is adorable and poppy and I love it.

Re: How awesome is this?!?!

  • I would have been pissed if a band like Maroon 5 randomly came to my wedding and performed.  If U2 or another band I am crazy about came, that'd be a different story

  • I would have been livid because I hate them.

I have said it before, but to me, the singer sounds like a congested person singing into a kazoo. No thanks.

I mean, people send invites to celebs every day. Who knows, these could have all been weddings they were "invited" to. Then again, it could have all been staged. The world may never know...

I love that description. I will agree to disagree (although I really
    really hate the Payphone song)

ETA: I can see boxes >:(

  • it looks cool on camera, but I have to wonder how WILDLY disruptive that was to their reception.

    I would've been really mad.

  • We invited Metallica. DH would have been thrilled if they showed, even more so if they performed. (I'm glad they didn't).

Maroon 5 is why wedding venues should have security.

    This.

Now if it was the black keys.....

This reminds me of when U2 put their album on Icloud or whatever. You aren't that good. Not everyone likes you. Get off my playlist.

FI wants to invite Metallica. I don't think it's going to happen.

BUT, he and his buddies are going to recreate this:

And I have been asked to make a postcard of it to send to them after the wedding.

  • Yeah no. Its mainly because V and I hate Maroon 5. I'm sure we wouldn't mind if people we really liked came and perform for a little bit. I would be excited if Norah Jones came! But when V and I have talked about a wedding, we decided we wanted something low key. Soooo I doubt anything will happen like that ha.

  • I'm the opposite - I think this would have been awesome.  I like Maroon 5.  IDK if H would know who they were, but that would have been great.

  • I like Maroon 5 enough to not turn off the songs on the radio, but not enough to download their music.

That being said, if they crashed my wedding, I would think it was awesome from the point of view of "This Top-40 band crashed our wedding! What a story! Free live band!"

A part of me might have considered the disruption. I don't know in retrospect if that would have pissed me off or not. I think the surprise outweighs the inconvenience.

We thought about sending invite to Metallica... and other celebrities.  We decided against it.  But, I did walk down the aisle to Nothing Else Matters.  It would have been awesome to have them play it live at the reception.

  • I think Adam Levine is kind of a twatwaffle, so I'd be annoyed at this.
