FYI, Just got married so, I may interchange FI/DH cuz this is so new! LOL!
So we got married 8/27/11, pics to hopefully come soon, my DHs mom couldnt come, she has made many excuses, which Im not gonna list, but each seem silly and selfish to me. The 4 yrs dating my FI/DH, Ive noticed she has a record of disappointing him with her abscences and her reasons are all "me, me I, myself"
So the Ceremony was to start promptly at 4pm. My FI/DH came and told my dad he had to set up his laptop because his mom just called and wanted to watch the ceremony via skype. RIGHT BEFORE THE CEREMONY????! Geez.
Im not a stickler that everything needed to be on time, my point was that she called right before he was supposed to go up the asle. Honestly, if there was guilt brimming inside her, wouldnt she called earlier? Instead of thinking of herself and calling when we were supposed to be getting married.
Also I would like to rant that I havent gotten any call or text of her saying shes happy Im with her son, or congrats, or welcome to the fam...
DH's gramma: I spent hours making corsages and boutineeres for the parents and grandparents. DHs gramma didnt wear hers and left hers on the table where it sat the whole night. I found it while picking up after everyone left for the night. I dont know what thats about. Shes very traditional so, its not like she didnt know what to do with it. It was also strange, she grilled me on our officiant and what church hes from/affiliated with. I had tried to get both families to interact, but she stayed with her son and his wife and kids and they went off playing bean bags in our yard.
Has anyone else had a similar weird MIL situation like this? Or am I on crack?
