Flower girl and ring bearer gifts

My flower girls will be 3 and a half at the time of my wedding and out ring bearer will be just turning 7.  What types of gifts are recommended for them?  Do they have to match bridesmaids/groomsmen gifts?

They definitely do not need to match. None of the gifts need to match period, not even the bridesmaids'
Just get each kid a gift that you think they'd like.
Is the ring bearer into Lord of the Rings by any chance? LotR toys or legos would be a cute theme present if he likes it.
(ETA: But as Southernbelle said, they don't need to be wedding related)
  • They don't need to match.

I would ask their parents. Maybe the 7 y/o wants a superhero backpack. Maybe the 3 y/o girls want some bath toys or something. It doesn't have to be wedding related. Just ask their parents what they'd enjoy.

  • My flower girl was 2 and a half and just started ballet. I got her a tutu bag for her stuff. She thought it was adorable. Friend got her ring bearer a spiderman watch as he was into spiderman. Also a big hit.
  • The gifts definitely don't need to match. We got our ring bearer a lego set. Our male usher was 13, so we got him a stadium seat cushion autographed by some NFL guys and our 10 y/o female usher got a nail polish kit. The items fit their personalities and they loved them.

Honestly, none of your thank you gifts should match. You should shop for each person individually. Why would a 3 year old and a 20-30 something need or want the same type of gift.

I gave two of my three bridesmaids wine (the 3rd one doesn't drink) for one of their gifts. Surely, you wouldn't be gifting a 3 year old wine.

Maybe a stuffed animal or something from build a bear for the 3 year old?

  • Ask their parents what they are into.
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

  • Definitely ask their parents for some ideas. When I was a flower girl for my aunt and uncle, I got a new Barbie. I gave my nieces coloring books and a gigantic box of crayons.
  • Depending how well you know them, parents can be a big help. I have two flower girls.. One of them I'm getting some bath and body works type things as she us super in to bubble baths and smelly things. My other girl has crazy allergies to that stuff, so I'm making her a build a bear stuffed animal in a wedding dress as she has a huge stuffed animal collection. Have fun with their gifts - they'll be super excited no matter what
