Bridesmaid Shoes

So I finally think my bridesmaids and I have settled on their dresses (we picked 4 styles from DB in mesh, long in plum that they can choose from) but now I'm curious what to do about shoes. It's obviously up to them - I don't expect them to go buy some required shoes, but I know I've seen that it's ok to request a color? But I'm wondering if it's necessary since they're long... Originally I was thinking silver or nude, but if they aren't going to show does it really matter? Just looking for advice from any of you ladies who have bridesmaids wearing long dresses or suggestions for shoes to go with plum dresses. Did you see their feet at all? What did they wear?

Yeah, since they're long it doesn't really matter and you probably won't see the shoes that much if at all so i would just let them wear whatever colour.

As someone who was a BM in a wedding and wore a long dress... Pleaaaase let them pick their own shoes. You're right, no one can see their shoes anyways. We were told the color and style and now they're tossed in the back of my closet. I think it's pretty safe to give a color suggestion, but no more than that, your BMs will appreciate it!!

My bridesmaids' dresses are long and I asked them to wear black flats or sandals. Like everyone else has said... the dresses are long so the likelihood of the shoes showing is rare.

I don't think it's too much to request a color/palette. My girls wore a "berry" (sort of a wine) colored dress and I requested nude or gold, heels or flats. The dresses were also different lengths (3 wore a high-low style and 3 wore a long dress). Everyone ended up wearing nude (probably bc that's what they all had in their closets already!)
