I am disliking all this hatred toward me team and my beatuiful Tom Brady. lol

It's ok, everyone hates winners. I used to hate Peyton Manning for always beating us, and I hate Lebron James for always beating us. But you have to admit he gets admiration for not being a sell out. When everyone else is jumping around teams trying to make more money, Tom has said 100 times that he built this team and he will never leave it for more money. He has actually taken cuts to get receivers that he wanted.

    Girl, yes. All this.
Peyton did NOT jump around looking for money.  Not at ALL.  He was released by the Colts.

I happened to run into  Archie Manning around that time. I told him my parents are Colts season tickets holders and my mom cried when Peyton was released he said "so did he".

Goes to show loyalty. Kraft & Belichek would never release Tommy. ;)

I think that you can be a great player and still not act like you are some sort of God. There is a balance to knowing you are amazing and still being humble about the amazing position that you are in. He, unfortunately, has not found that balance.

And yes, he complains a shit ton on the field. He is constantly calling for flags because OMG his pinky finger got touched or some other bullshit.

And the bolded is what I am talking about in regards to his douche baggery.  I don't even like it when my team players talk like that.  I understand it is all part of the game, but talk shit prior to it if you must (makes the actual game more exciting), but don't act like a pompous ass after you have won.  I mean, why is it really all that surprising that so many people don't like him?

I think he is very humble actually. The majority of hs interiews he's giving props to his coaches and his teammates. He's never sitting there saying he's the best and that he's definitely going to win. I think he's a real long way from being the "kanye" of football.

Plus like Fran said, with so many player involved with drugs and domestic violence and all that, Tom is by far the tamest. He's not partying and buying yachts and beating his wife, he's a good role model.

I agree that he's getting a little whiney about hits, but he's getting old. He can't take a hit like when he was 24 anymore. And the knee blowout that happened a few years ago still probably has him a little rattled. Yes he knows that he plays a sport for a living that could cause injuries but it's not like he's a professional bullrider- if the rules ae followed and enforced (which he's trying to do) then injury should be pretty minimal.

If you can't stand the heat get out of the kitchen. If Brady can't take a hit any more then he sholder be playing. True for ANY player.
  • I'm a huge seahawks fan sooo I'm rooting for them! Honestly I think this game will be close. The only annoying things that I don't like about the Patriots is when their fans act like they have always been good. Dude, your team hasn't been that great throughout their history. They became good last decade and they became a football team in 1970.

But I can say the same thing about Seattle. I remember those dark years...I was crushed when we lost to the Steelers and the following years. I know we just became good several years ago, but I stuck it out! I've been a fan since I was 7 and I'm 21. I have autographs, jerseys, a hat from the last superbowl, ect. I really try to be the best fan ha.

For the record, my hate for Belichick runs much deeper then Brady.    He is a poor sportsmen.  Actually they both are.   Both are known to refuse to congratulation the winning teams, shakes hands, stuff like that.  It comes across as sore losers.

I blame Belichick more because he is the coach and should be setting the example.
Source on that? I just don't believe this is true. They don't lose that often, but I always notice Belichick shake the hands of the winning coach/quarterback when he loses.

I can see the hate for Belichick; if he were not the Patriots coach, I probably wouldn't like him either.

    I can't stand Giselle. Ugh, she's awful.

  • I want the Seahawks to win. I can't stand the Patriots or Tom Brady. Actually I can't stand the Patriots because of Tom Brady. Idk what it is but whenever I hear him speak he just irritates the piss out of me.
  • My team, the Packers, lost a couple of weeks ago, so now I am not sure who to root for. I honestly don't really care. I am so sick of the Patriots winning all of the time and Brady just rubs me the wrong way, so I think I will have to root for the Seahawks. I just can't stand Belichick and I get a smug vibe from Brady. The Packers did break down at the end, so the Seahawks deserved to win. In that case, go Seahawks! I am more excited just to spend time with friends and eat some wonderful food!

After the 2007 loss to the Giants in the super bowl is one.  I watched it live. There are reports on others.

My parents are season ticket holders for the Colts and have witnessed them sulking off the field without the traditional handshakes.   Belichick refusing to do post-games interviews.

Belichick might be a good coach, but he comes across as an arrogant, unsportsmanlike asshole.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.

Ok, fair enough. That's not cool. I think I was in shock after the 2007 game, so I didn't notice. I was at my friend's house for a superbowl party, and when the Pats lost she was like "don't leave me with my husband" (joking).

The interview things are just how he is. He pretty much does the bare minimum to get by. It's actually pretty awkward listening to him. I don't know why the media tries to get info from him. You'll get what he gives you, and that's that. They can't really trick him. If he doesn't give an interview and he's supposed to, let the league fine him. He doesn't care.

I feel like football could rank up there with religion and politics as far as hot button topics.

    Go Packers.

  • I live in Seattle and I am already done with all the sportsball nonsense.

  • I am so exhausted.  We're going to Super Bowl party tomorrow and I won't have a lot of time tomorrow because we'll only have about an hour and a half between getting done with church and going over to the party.  So tonight, I mixed up an amazing 4-cheese spinach artichoke dip, made cupcakes and made frosting for said cupcakes.  Tomorrow, I'm going to throw the dip in the oven, frost the cupcakes, dye some of the frosting orange and put little footballs on top of the cupcakes.

But right now, the kitchen is a mess and my feet are sore from standing.  Food coma here we come!
  • DH watches for the hits. I watch for the commercials. He's anti Pats, rooting for the Seahawks. My Dad is from outside of Boston, so I grew up rooting for the Patriots.

We're grilling steaks, and I'm making cheese fondue. May pick up a few "game day" esque food items this morning.

Considering the fact that DH and I are on "opposite sides" for this game, I should really make a sex game out of it. Not drinking, we'd get loaded too quick, but a sexual favors game for during and afterwards? Totally on board with that and being unable to walk properly into work tomorrow....

Come on, Drunkenwitch! It's sportsball day! Let's get going here! Wake up, clean up the barbecue, get your sportsing menu in order, and...can you do anything about the fog???
I need to get to the store, where there are lurid green and blue sprinkles on the doughnuts, and vile green and blue frosting on all the cookies. It looks like a seahawk flew over and crapped sportsing colors on the bakery.

(I'm just going along with the nonsense. I was starting to feel left out.)

  • My local whole foods has a deal today where you can fill a 52 oz bucket with all the fresh hot wings in any flavor you want for 7.99. You can fill a 64 oz bucket for 10 bucks.

Not pregnant, but damn, now I want wings.
