@danibites did he at least get good numbers? Or is he stuck with 2 and 5?

  • I'm sorry, this sucks. I have no idea what FI does with his money and frankly I don't care as long as the bills are paid and credit stays good (he's Mr. Finance so i don't worry about that). If he put $700 toward gambling (actually lost that much this summer on a bet) I don't care IF everything is paid first.. I'm sorry he didn't take care of the priorities first, hopefully he has something in his back pocket to take care of the CC bill.

  • I've also never heard of the house taking a cut, but all of my pools have been at people's houses or at work, not from a casino or other official betting house. I think it might be a 50/50 for the one at work where half the pot goes to the corporate charity and half gets split among the winners?

Or else apparently I need to start setting up more SB pools. 10% of the pot just for drawing some squares on paper? Count me in.

The first year we won, we had what I considered awful numbers. I think it was zero and 9. But something weird happened and the team got a safety and then a toucdown and we won the first quarter!

    You could win that $100!!

  • I don't know what boxes or squares or whatever is.

I do know that if FI spent $700 on one, I'd shit a brick. And then probably hit him with the brick I shat.

  • Whenever I've done them, the squares are blank, and they fill the top/side row numbers in at random. So it's all just dumb luck. I actually prefer the luck of the draw to paying more for "prime" boxes.

  • So did he win??

I was hoping for an update too!

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
  • He didn't win squat!

Still a good time though :)

  • My H won $400 on the final score! Best part is he got his squares for free through a contest at his work.

Worst part is when it looked like Brady was gonna take a safety being lined up so far back, I was cackling like a maniac and H got mad at me. He's still pissy, even though I called him back from his temper tantrum to tell him about the false start penalty.

I've always seen them done like this. Otherwise, everyone would fight over the 7's and 4's.

Boo that OP didn't win. Yay that lolo won! How about you @katwag?

@jenna8984 we didn't win either! I had already mentally spent the winnings. What a bummer
