Which Direction?! Help!

So I have just begun my wedding dress shopping and I can't decide whichdirection I want to go. I know I like the fit and flare silhouette but what I can't decide is which would complement the venue: something simple and plain or something unique/over the top. Our venue is a hotel that was sanctioned By an art museum. The ballroom has gorgeous details and 6 beautiful crystal chandeliers..... any advice?

  • Your dress doesn't have to match the venue; just the formality of the event. Be open to trying on a bunch of different styles.

This. Don't put tons of pressure on yourself to match your venue. If you find a dress that you think is beautiful and you feel great in it, then that's the dress!

    I agree with this.

Remember, even a "plain" dress can be dressed up with a belt or jewelry. Pick what you love.

Echoing PPs! Try on a bunch of different dresses and pick the one you feel like a million bucks in.
  • I just got my dress this weekend - it was my first time trying on too -

and I had NO idea what I wanted and what would compliment my body... so I went in with a completely open mind.

My consultant started by pulling one dress of each style - ball gown, trumpet, mermaid, etc...

Once we narrowed it down to what style I liked, I just tried on that style until I had my AHA moment. I wasnt thinking about venue, or date, time, only how I felt. And I felt amazing!!! It will happen to you too!!

    Good luck!
